“Jammin in San Pedro”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

We had the best time with Renita and Cindy. They were the most exceptionall hosts. If you had any questions on what to do, or where to go, they or their staff, Josimar, Esther, and Naphtali, had the answers. The B&B was the best choice of lodging. We had fun at Fido's listening to Kelly Mcquire, but especially at the Jerry Jeff Walker concerts. The other guests that stayed at the B&B while we were there were som of the nicest people as well. So if you are looking for an exceptional place to stay, we highly recommend it!!!!

“A Perfect Birthday Vacation!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

When I read other reviews, I was hoping this was going to be what others said it was. I can now say 110% sure, I'm so glad I stayed here! It was for my 34th birthday and it turned out to be an awesome experience...Cindy even baked me a delicious birthday cake! :) Everyone there was amazing and I am so grateful for everything they did for us. Let them give you referrals of what to do...their advice always proved true. We let them arrange/pay for all our outings so it was on one card/one transaction (and therefore only one intl' service fee) at the end of our stay (which is just another great thing they do). The B&B has a relaxing sandy courtyard that is a great place to hang out, meet people, read a book, chill in a hammock, & whatever else you can imagine. Oh, and the breakfast...how could I have not mentioned the breakfast already...it was something new and delicious everyday I stayed. Not only that, but it was a lot of food! This wasn't a bagel and coffee type of place...it was lots of fresh fruits, the best yogurt&granola ever (I never even eat yogurt!), and then after that, you get another plate full of food with fresh juice, coffee, and/or tea. Ester is the sweetest lady and makes such yummy food. I took a lot of pictures of my breakfast...haha. Also, my bed was like a black hole of happiness, I'm such a bed snob but I found this bed sooo comfortable. As soon as I laid down after my day of fun, I ended up falling asleep before I even had a chance to turn the light off (seriously!). I loved the charm & vibe of this place, the awesome, helpful people who work here (Cindy, Renita, Josimar, & Ester), and loved experiencing everything they did & set up for us. If you're looking for a really great experience, at an amazing price, book a room here.

First off, let me say I had a feeling about this place and I'm glad I came. Renita and Cindy showed me and my boyfriend a great time. I think the make for me wasn't the rooms. They are cozy, clean and very functional. The make was the proximity to downtown and the people I met while at this B&B. The innkeepers are from the mid-west and you can sure as hell tell by the way they offer that great hospitality. I can't say enough good things about these people. Stay here!

“Great hosts, felt right at home”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2012

Perfect place to stay for semi-budget minded couples looking to explore Ambergris Caye and Belize. The rooms are small, but clean and cozy and with air-conditioning. However the grounds make up for it with an idyllic sand garden, loungue space to enjoy a rum and/or beer and a kitchen/fridge for use. Renita is a tremendous host and as a result you feel like family and are welcomed.
The highlight is the delicious breakfasts served outdoors with coffee, fresh fruit, juice and a different homemade entree each morning. I loved walking barefoot 15 feet to eat breakfast with my toes in the sand. Renita and hosts are also tremendous at arranging activities so all you have to do is get ready. I highly recommend the Balacar Chico all day snorkel trip around the Caye. The hosts are so welcoming and trustworthy that when I noticed I was overcharged on my trip it was changed without hassle or question.
Speaking with others on the island it was clear that the locals respected Changes in Latitude and you would do well to stay there as long as you don't expect the lap of luxury and the gawdiness of big resorts.

“Wonderful time at Changes in Latitudes B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

I can't say enough good things about Renita and her Changes in Latitudes B&B. The hotel is a short walk south of downtown, easily accessible by a nice walk on the beach or by the road. True, it's not on the beach, but the property includes a nice little outdoor oasis with comfortable chairs, hammocks, and some yard games. The rooms are small, but who cares when you're on the islands: you're there to be out and exploring the island. But, again, if you want to hang around, the property is well maintained, private, quiet and comfortable. The breakfasts were delicious: we had fry jacks the first morning, oatmeal caramel pancakes the second, and a mexican breakfast taco the third. All breakfasts are homemade from scratch are served with fresh fruit, juice, and coffee.

Above all, you can't beat the customer service. Renita was willing to help us with any and everything, and was even willing to help our friends who were staying at a separate hotel. She researches daily activities and trips, and lets guests know what is going on in the evening. She's been in the business long enough that she knows which tour guides to use and which ones to avoid, securing you the best price and the best experience.

A note to future guests: if you book Changes in Latitudes through a site like Expedia or Hotels.com, make sure you then contact the hotel directly. Because those sites won't share customer information with the hotel, she doesn't know if its a couple or if its friends and has different rooms to accomodate different types of guests. She totally aims to please, so if she knows who is coming and what you might want to do, she's happy to arrange things before your arrival!

Room Tip: Contact Renita before hand and let her know if you have any special requests!
