Just recently came back from a week in Belize. My friend and I stayed 3 nights at the Sundiver Beach Resort, located about 4.5 miles north of San Pedro. As soon as we got to San Pedro, we rented a golf cart to drive to Sundiver. Big Mistake. The road was very bad behind Captain Morgan's where a very large mud hole stood in our way. We sunk to our cart axle, and if it were not for 2 local young men helping us out, we would not have made it to Sundiver. Upon arriving at Sundiver, we were greeted by Laura, the resort manager who immediately offered us the welcome drink. Don't remember what it was called, but it was very good and I ordered a few more for me and my friend. Francisco also was very nice and he took our bags from the cart and brought them to our room. It was a great room on the second floor with a wrap-around balcony. The room was very clean, roomy and comfortable. Every morning, Laura cooked a hot breakfast for us with scrambled eggs and bacon. I had stayed at Captain Morgans on my previous trip to Belize, but truthfully, I liked Sundiver better. It was much more relaxing, larger rooms and very nice balconies. Laura, Francisco and Chris (Owner) were the best of hosts. Too bad the Sundiver is no longer available. Chris has decided to lease the resort to an organization for use as a young women's retreat for the next three years. We were the last guests Chris will be hosting. Too bad, because I really would have liked to spend a few days again next summer.
