“Wonderful”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 February 2009

Wonderful. Our seventh visit. We always stay in a room with a balcony on the second of a building overlooking a beautiful lagoon. This year we relaxed, read, swam, had our dinner drinks overlooking the lagoon, toured the bird sanctuary, and enjoyed delicious meals prepared by the Resort's excellent new chef. Tour the relatively nearby Mayan ruins Try it. You'll love it.

“Great Place Especially the White Sands Dive Operation”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2009

The White Sands Dive Operation at Journey's End did an excellent job. The diving was great and the dive masters were very good especially Sam and Carlos. They wanted you to have a good safe dive.
The White Sands operation has only been at this hotel for 4 months after moving from another location and seem to be real interested in establishing a good reputation.
It worked for me.

“Relax, Eat and Dive!”

There were so many choices of quaint places to stay on Ambergris Caye, that I went with the recommendation of our Travel Agent. Great choice! The staff was incredible, I've never met a nicer bunch (and I've met a lot fo nice people). The food was delicious, and the private bungalows were just that, private. We also loved the new dive shop, White Sands Dive Shop. They are right next door, and super convenient. I heard the shop they replaced was marginal, White Sands was sujperb! Personalized attention, great variety of dive sites, and great assistance from each of the crew.

Thanks Journey's End!

We came here with a diving group to dive and enjoy Belize. The hotel was pretty with a nice pool. The eating area was beautiful with a great breeze. The problem was that it was remote and the food expensive ($50/dinner for 2). To get into town, you had to pay for the boatride or ride some bikes (not complementary). If you ride the bikes, get in early, because riding in the dark on the outskirts of town is a BAD idea. I felt my life was threatened if I didn't peddal fast enough. My husband said to keep peddaling no matter what happened.

The diving in the preserves was great, along with Shark & Ray Alley (both about 15 minutes south of the hotel). The night dive in Hotan/HoChan? (spelling?) was very nice. We didn't do the blue hole, since it was a 2 hour boatride to it. Overall, the diving was beautiful, except for the first day's dives. They were not pretty and were just offshore. When we went to pay, there was a problem, because my husband dove more than the amount and I dove less, so we'd figured they'd count it as even. However, the dive shop was very touchy and it was very uncomfortable that they were pressuring us (and everyone else) on similar situations, even though the boats were full. They said, let's settle on a price. You tell us yours and we'll tell you if it's acceptable. One guy who only dove a couple times had to see if the hotel would let him use his credits in the gift shop. They relented, but it was difficult for him.

That's how it is in San Pedro in our experience. People harrass you to buy things above what you're willing to pay for them. They won't let up. Unless you relent, they'll call you selfish Americans who don't understand anything else. I bought some earrings in San Pedro but wish I hadn't.

“Beautiful and Romantic Getaway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 January 2009

For our wedding, my husband and I wanted a private, secluded getaway for our friends and family in a beautiful, exotic locale. When we found Journey's End Resort, we knew it would be perfect. We rented out the entire resort for our event so that our guests could enjoy all of the amenities and perks of their own private paradise.

From the moment we contacted the resort, we were treated like family. The event coordinator (Amy S.) and the General Manager (Chris R.) did a phenomenal job accommodating our requests and addressing our concerns. They took it upon themselves to make our wedding as special and memorable as possible. The staff at the resort were warm, kind, and generous, and we were especially thankful to have had the assistance and friendship of their top employee, Mr. Bill. He did everything he could to ensure that our week in Belize was the best barefoot adventure possible. We had a perfect wedding ceremony on the beach, and our guests enjoyed an elegant reception under the sparkling stars of the Belizean sky.

Journey's End Resort is located on the northern end of Ambergris Caye and easily accessible by both private and public water taxis. It's location makes it a perfect getaway for guests who want a bit of privacy, while having easy access to the excitement of downtown San Pedro. The white sandy beaches of the resort provide a perfect backdrop for the romantic vacation of your dreams. Fill your days lounging on the beach in front of the resort, or take the free hobby cats and kayaks out to the Belize Reef which runs a few hundred feet east of the resort's beach. Many of our guests took advantage of the excellent massage and mani-pedi services provided by the Serenity Spa right on site. Others were perfectly content splashing around in the resort pool (complete with swim-up-bar and flat screen TV), or lying in the various hammocks on the resort property.

While we were guests at Journey's End, we were also granted full access to the gorgeous Mediterranean themed sister resort right next door (Las Terrazas). The beautiful pool and beachfront chaise lounges provided a wonderful place to unwind after a long trip out to dive the Blue Hole or following a jaunt out to Aerial Trek and Jaguar Paw for zip-lining and cave tubing. There are plenty of activities to do while you are in Belize, and Journey's End Resort is a great launching pad for any type of adventure you desire.

Having traveled all over the world, we can honestly say that the staff of Journey's End are some of the best we've ever encountered. Their warm hearts and welcoming smiles will have us returning there for years to come.
