It was late and I needed a place to stay while traveling to Florida to pick up my wife following the birth of our grandchild. My wife used the internet and guided me here. Danielle was working the front desk and was WONDERFUL! I wanted a handicapped room and the ones available were at the end of a hall by a back door. Due to no fault of the hotel the three rooms were full of cigarette smoke -- and I'm very allergic to it. All were labeled non-smoking rooms. However, since that hallway was filled with a cigarette smoke smell, I'm guessing that several guests had smoked outside the door and the smoke got pulled into the hallway and then into the rooms. Danielle never became frustrated as she helped me find a room. On the fourth try I was placed on the front hall -- and I am very appreciative of her work.
The room was nice, clean, and comfortable. The entire south was under a severe heat wave this week but the room was cool -- and quiet. All of the rooms that I tried had the air conditioners already running, which is unusual for a lot of hotels these days. The hotel is near Albany's mall.
The area seemed secure and I felt safe there. There were no snack or drink machines in the hotel but they had a small supply of snacks next to the check-in counter available for purchase. There is also a convience store directly across the street.
The hotel is easy to find. There is a by-pass around Albany and this hotel is about two blocks from the eastern entrance to the by-pass.
The breakfast area was large and clean, and had both the local paper and USA Today. Breakfast was the normal fare for a hotel like this: bagels, toast, sausage buscuits, hard boiled eggs, waffles that you cook yourself, cereal, etc. My only gripe was that the juice machine was broken. The front desk did offer free Five Alive out of their snack area if you asked.
I would stay here again.
