My husband, daughter, pet, and I were in Albany for the marathon that my husband was participating in. We arrived on Friday night around 9:30pm. We were told that they were overbooked and would take care of our stay at a different inn. We were very concerned since we had a pet and not many locations would accept him. We were very disappointed that after confirmation with our card and a phone call a couple of days before our arrival that we would be in this situation.
Cathy and Lumus the manager, made another reservation for us at an Americas Best Value. the standard of the hotel was lower than the Jamisson, but we could not drive 30 minutes away to another Jamisson when we had to be downtown at 6:30 am.
As expected Lumus and Cathy were very apologetic. Lumus took care of our stay at the ABV and also invited us back to the Jamisson the next day and took care of our expenses.
Although this is not the best way to start your getaway weekend, the situation was turned around with complementary stay and accomodating staffing.
this is an example that things do happen, but customer service issue can still be turned around by us staying calm and the staff coming up with solutions that are acceptable to both parties.
I would go back to a Jamisson Inn. the rooms are nice, clean, (double beds a bit small). Continental breakfast... AND PETS ALLOWED
