“Remarkably average”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 December 2011

If I were to create an "average" airport-type hotel, it would look a lot like this one. The location is ideal if you need to catch an early flight out of Denver.

We had a king room with a slightly detached couch/sitting area. The room was clean, but not pristine. The hotel itself is a bit rundown, but not terribly so. Didn't see any bugs. Check in was at 2, which was nice. We had booked on Travelocity a few hours before and called to find out when we could come in. When we arrived, the clerk had already pulled our key and set up our room. Check-in took about a minute. The clerk was nice. The place has a continental breakfast, but we didn't have time to try it. There's a Denny's and McDonald's within easy walking distance.

It isn't the best hotel, and if you expecting four or five stars, you will be disappointed. But for what it is, it is satisfactory.

And this is a total aside, but beware the toilet's flush. It was so loud that I literally jumped.

Room Tip: The higher floors do have a nice view.

“Check your Sheets! Might not be clean.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 November 2011

My husband and I have staid here several times and it has been a good motel overall until we staid this time. They have just recently changed ownships and the quality of service has gone down. The rate wasn't bad around $75 or $80. The clerk was friendly, went up to the room, it was kind of late around 10 pm. The elevator floor was gross. In the room, it looked nice, little dim. Looked at the bed and the pillows looked like they were a little dirtly, thought it might be a shadow or the lighting. Decided to LOOOK, well good thing I did. When I pulled down the comforter and top sheet. Found Hair! So I called the front desk and they said ohh we are sorry we will be right up. They did as they said. The guy handed me the sheets and said I am sorry about that. I had to make the bed. Ok sooo I decided fine... when taking the sheets off the bed the matteress cover that was on the bed had so much hair on it you couldn't tell it had ever been washed! I marched it down to the front desk and said this is not acceptable. HIS comment was ohh our maid must left a few hairs. SERIOUSLY, I said a maid doesn't loose pubic hair or hair from her head that much! It was too late, to go anywhere else and they didn't offer any discounts, refunds. Just here is a new matteress cover and sheets. So AGAIN, they had me make the bed. POOR SERVICE, Also the interenet is slowwwwww! Hot breakfest was ok, my mother can make better scrambled eggs!

“There were bugs in my room!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 November 2011

I spent there the night of Oct.24- 25,2011 The hotel lobby was dim and very unpleasant. The room was somewhat depressing, but I was very tired and just wanted to go to bed. Before i went to bed I saw a huge, light brown bug on the wall by the lamp. I don't know if this was a cockroach because I never saw one before. I killed it and went to bed. I had to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night and with great horror I saw another bug, the same kind on the wall by my bed. I knocked it from the wall and went to bed again, but could not fall asleep again. In the morning I saw this bug on the floor, still alive. I think I killed it, covered it with a wash cloth, so I don't step on it when packing. When I was checking out I told the guy (a middle age man) about the bugs. He acted like I offeneded him, told me "We don't have problem with bugs here." I told him where the bugs were in the room. Finally he said something that sounded like "I'm sorry". This was probably the worst experience with an American hotel I have ever had.

“Was very comfortable with our stay here”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 October 2011

I was leery about staying here after reading some of the reviews but I booked here anyway because it was going to be for one night only. The main reasons I initially booked here was because of the free airport shuttle and free hot breakfast. The shuttle picked us up within 15 mins of calling them and we were given a King Deluxe room that was very roomy and had a great, comfy bed along with nice linens and pillows, which is the most important aspect of a room. The room was clean and had a divider separating the bedroom from a small sitting area and also had a frig, micro, and coffeemaker. After resting we headed to the nearby Denny's which was just a short walk away, about 1 block. Afterwards, we walked back and decided to check out the hotel's indoor pool and jacuzzi -- it looked really nice, clean, and inviting and we went back to our room, changed, and came back down and spent a couple of hours relaxing in the jacuzzi and swimming and floating in the pool. We had a good night's sleep and in the morning hit the breakfast area and were met with a wonderful array of food: scrambled eggs, pan sausage, biscuits, gravy, pancakes, waffles, oatmeal, toast, assorted juices, milk and coffee. Everything was great! We then caught the shuttle back to the airport. We enjoyed staying here so much that a week later, when we returned from a bus tour, we were scheduled to spend the last night at a Red Lion but instead we wanted to come back to the Ambassador so I cancelled the Red Lion and booked at the Ambassador again! Our second stay there was just as nice and comfortable. It's just a nice place at a decent price. For the shoppers out there, other than a Harley Davidson store next door, there's no shopping within walking distance, but if you're looking for a quick place to stay close to the airport, this place is perfect.

“not too bad, not too good”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 October 2011

i suppose location is important for an hotel, so it does the job by being not too far form the airport and the car rental return street. cleanliness was ok . you could easily see that it was and hotel that they did a bit of re-paint and change the name. pool and hot tub.
i was back from the Hampton in Littleton so i felt like a big downgrade for the same price, but like i said it is the location that rules the prices. Just an average hotel. Might wanna try anither one next time since there are so many in the area.
