“Nice Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

Very nice hotel with a beautiful lobby
Our room was spacious with a king bed. We really enjoyed the sleep number bed. Was disappointed that an upscale hotel in the Denver area had an outdoor pool which was of course closed in December. Either an indoor or at least heated pool would make more sense.
The biggest drawback is that it is extremely confusing getting into the hotel. We actually had to circle around a couple of times and its located right on the freeway. GPS did not help.
There is a light rail station across the freeway.
We would stay at this hotel again.

Thank you for your complements about our beautiful lobby, our spacious rooms, and our comfortable beds. Unfortunately the location is out of our control but if you give use a call we will provide you with the most accurate directions. We are looking into your concerns about our pool and hopefully we can better accommodate your needs. We hope to see you soon.

We had an excellent stay; as always, Judy at the front desk and Leslie at the lobby lounge bar were special greeters, and among our main reasons for continuing to come to the Denver Southeast Red Lion.

Room Tip: There are excellent rooms in the eight-storey east building, but the best overall seem to be in the...

“Nice people, but trapped in the hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

I stayed here for nearly 2 weeks and I had mixed feelings about this place. Apparently, it's in a "not so nice" area of Denver (as was verified by the fact that there was a shooting in the hotel right before we got there). The hotel room itself was fine, but you need a car. There is NOTHING you can walk to from this hotel. They offer to shuttle you anywhere nearby for free, but that doesn't exactly work for roundtrips. Not the hotel's fault, granted, but still a pain. The room was okay. Would have been nice if they had some vending machines available since food is not nearby. The breakfast was included in the room, which was great for the first few days, then I realized they were serving the exact same thing EVERY SINGLE DAY. They didn't even change the powdered eggs, to eggs overeasy or poached or anything new. Always powdered scramble eggs, bacon and biscuits. That's it for the hot food except for toast or oatmeal. People that worked there were nice. No complaints. The little gym is decent for its size. But you are trapped there! Also they had sponsored some strange teenage party there with tons of Denver police around. Thought that was a little inappropriate for a business hotel.

Our hotel ballroom was rented to a qualified promoter who assured the hotel that this event would be upscale. We have never had any evidence that this promoter had ever had trouble at any previous event. Unfortunately, the event was overrun by uninvited party crashers. The promoter had arranged in advance for off duty police officers to be at the event for security. Employees of the Red Lion Hotel Denver Southeast called the Aurora Police Department for additional backup when it became evident that the uninvited individuals were intending to disrupt the event. When the issues continued into the early hours of the morning, the Aurora Police were there to mitigate and assure the safety of our guests. As you mentioned we do offer a shuttle to nearby areas to and from the hotel, sometimes wait time is longer to do availability and our shuttles making multiple runs. We do offer a full service menu for our breakfast with multiple items on the menu. I am glad that you enjoyed our hotel and had a great experience with all employees. Hope to see you in the near future.

“Red Lion @ I 225 and Parker, Denver”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

Room was dirty, specifically the bathroom and the vanity area. The walls had a red gunk and dirt, the vanity was dirty with something black, the shower had soap scum and hair on the walls, the hot water in the shower was a joke. I literally had to turn it on and wait about 4-5 minutes to get in. The table in the LR ( we had a suite) had some dried gunk on it. I told the front desk about the dirty room, they sent up someone to clean while we went out for the day. Came back and it was still dirty. Mold in shower, soap gunk, soap scum, mold on heater, face of heater with gunk and mold, dried crispy crud on table and crud in bar sink drain. I met the supervisor and a cleaning lady at the room and showed them what I was talking about. The supervisor started scraping with her nail on the table and brushing off the gunk!!!!! No cleanser, no sanitizing. The maid went to the shower area and started wiping the shower walls with a moist wash cloth ( not wet, no soap) that would be used by guests. Again, NO CLEANSER, NO SANITIZER. I was so appauled. I went downstairs and had a cocktail.... when I returned the shower walls were ( i hope) sanitary, but the soap gunk was still caked in the shower soap holder and the table still had crusty goo. Oh well, guess that ends the visiting at this hotel. Time to find a new get away place, SAD FACE cause I sleep really well in their beds. The Front Desk Staff, the Executive Chef and the bar staff were wonderful. The pictures are after they cleaned... TWICE, lol.

Room Tip: We looked at 4 room locations in this hotel. TIP: Look closer at shower, walls and furniture.

“My overall stay with Red Lion Inn”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2012

Being very unfamiliar with Denver, it was difficult to locate the entrance even with a GPS but the greeting I received by the staff replaced the frustration. Very professional staff and the place was very clean. My only disappointment was I had a cold shower the next day because the handle had been broken prior and fell off when I tried to adjust the temperature but the staff was very apologetic when I told them.
