My wife and I always stay at the Lenado. It is comfortable, affordable, central and most important of all, staffed by universally the nicest possible people you could want to stay with. They are a family team in that many have worked at the Lenado for years, and they keep in close touch with previous staff (in the US and afar). There is nothing quite like the genuine warmth of welcome from Whalee, Danno, Russell, Flo, Chefs Kyle and Rafael, Maria (the housekeeper (and her team). Then there is the GM, Denise, who always goes the extra mile to make your trip work out, whether it be looking to upgrade your room whenever she can to collecting your ski pass, or forwarding your forgotten passports and laundry(!).
The Lenado is not the Little Nell or the St Regis. It has its quirky features - we always tweak the bedroom furniture to suit us. So, the Lenado might not suit the most fastidious traveller wanting robotic precision and endless 'hello, sirs'. But the Lenado is what we want - the warmest welcome Aspen has to offer, the best breakfast and the happiest memories.

If you are looking for a hotel is Aspen that won't break the bank this is a great choice for you. The staff is the most friendly of any hotel I have very stayed at. The locational is just as good as any other hotel in Aspen with everything within four blocks. The Hotel is also very, very clean! The rooms are modest size with nice sized bathrooms. Beds are comfortable . Hotel could use a new carpet and some paint. If you are looking for comfort, cleanliness, cool staff at a reasonable cost this is a great place. If you are looking to impress someone there may be better options for you at twice the price.

I recommend the hotel Lenado whole-heartedly to anyone who is looking for a great place to stay for their skiing/outdoors vacation in Aspen. The manager obviously knows what she's doing as there's a lot of attention to detail and each member of the staff is absolutely wonderful and well-trained. Lenado has the personal touch of a small hotel with all the amenities of a large one. As to the breakfast there: who says that it has to be a one-course meal? My husband and I still miss chef Kyle's fluffy pancakes. :-)

I have been to Aspen at least five times. This was by far the best hotel I have experienced.
It had all the amenities of a bigger hotel, yet the coziness of a bed and breakfast.
Cleanliness was not an option for me, and I was not disappointed. The breakfast is so good it is frequented by people staying at other hotels, and it isn't advertised. I had read a review that it could be noisy and it wasn't at all. it was peaceful and calm, and the view from our balcony afforded us a view of the mountains. The best part was how welcoming and helpful the staff is. Did I mention that the location is in the heart of Aspen proper?
I would not consider staying anywhere else when I return to Aspen! Donna
