I stayed at the little red ski haus during the high winter ski season in 2005. The little red ski haus USED to be a legendary spot in aspen catering to budget travelers. No longer... There have been extensive renovations at the little red ski haus, some for the better, some not. The prices are much, much higher now, management is new, and the renovation didn't improve the paper thin walls. The breakfast cooks are varied. One morning I had to wait 35 minutes for my meal. Not ideal when you want to be first in the lift lines. Also be warned that management is unreliable. They were to mail an item for me, but they never did. Management will offer you items that you'll assume to be complimentary, (like a glass of wine or some cheese in the early evening), but they will charge you for them once you check out of the hotel. The internet access advertised in the rooms is not wireless. You'll need to bring your own ethernet cable. I had a fine time, but there were enough drawbacks that I would look for an alternative in lodging the next time I ski in Aspen.
