“Should be Avoided”

A minor miscommunication between our company and the hotel resulted in the hotel manager trying to charge our personal credit card for our two-night stay. When we realized that the manager asked for our card not to secure payment for any "charges" we might incur, but to charge US for the room, the problem got worse. Our company immediately faxed the correct paperwork correcting the error. The manager insolently refunded our personal card -- handed us our key and pointed up stairs to where our room was. No other explanation about the amenities--breakfast--Internet was given. We should have left and located another hotel.

The room was dank and well-worn-- giving it an unclean feeling. Cigarette smoke from the smoking rooms waffed into our room later that night. It was relativley noisey as the work crews and trucks pulled in for their stay. We didn't eat breakfast nor did we ask for maid-service.

We later discovered that there are two brand new hotels on the other side of town-with BETTER gov't/corporate rates. With as many hotels/rooms available this time of of year in Alamosa, this hotel should not be considered as an option.

“Okay for a budget hotel”

This is an okay place to stay - convenient to the Great Sand Dunes National Park. Entry is by a double door setup at the front of the hotel. The doors are close together and make it difficult to get in with luggage and bags. Rooms are clean, have a MW and fridge and wi-fi works. The room is large enough and has lots of outlets. There's a small sink area, separate from the room where the tub and toilet are, so that's convenient. It's an oldish hotel and all entry is through the front door - I didn't see an elevator for the second floor. We stayed on the first floor near the lobby and didn't have any problems. Breakfast is served at 6:30 am and consists of pastries, bagels, fruit, OJ and coffee. Not bad - reasonable price.

“Very nice budget hotel, convenient, decent breakfast”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 February 2010

I'm a Colorado resident and travel throughout the State on business/vacation.
Stayed at the Days Inn, Alamosa, from 2/13-15/2010. Room /bath was clean, bed was comfortable, pillows were lumpy, towels were plenty/adequate. Room decor was burgundy/green/tan, frig/microwave/coffee maker, non-smoking room didn't smell. AC/heater/fan was a bit noisy but did cover some of the outside noise. Hotel is on 2 lane road but not much road noise. No pool/spa but close to all Alamosa/Sand Dunes/Creede/forts/hot springs, restaurants. Breakfast-cold cereals, instant oatmeal, bagels, fruit, juice, coffee, milk. Two story hotel, no elevator. Allows dogs in some rooms. Didn't use high-speed wifi/Internet.
Would recommend as decent budget hotel.
For decent, local Mexican food -try Cavillo's in Alamosa

“A good place to stay for a night or two”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 July 2009

The Days Inn in Alamosa is a simple but clean regular motel. Don't expect something exceptionnal since this is a Days Inn. You know what you get for the price.
The room was clean and comfortable, the hotel is easy to find (and convenient) when you arrive from Great Sand Dunes National Park and we had a fridge and a microwave oven.
Though we could go to the nearest Walmart and buy some food to heat and save some money on food.
The Motel is quite small (30 rooms on two floors) but well maintained. The internet access worked perfectly and the guest were mainly elderly people passing by ... so it was really quiet and we could enjoy a great night.
The breakfast is that regular "Days Inn" breakfast : nothing really good but basic pastries.

All in all, we wouldn't spend a week there but for a week or two it was perfect.
