A minor miscommunication between our company and the hotel resulted in the hotel manager trying to charge our personal credit card for our two-night stay. When we realized that the manager asked for our card not to secure payment for any "charges" we might incur, but to charge US for the room, the problem got worse. Our company immediately faxed the correct paperwork correcting the error. The manager insolently refunded our personal card -- handed us our key and pointed up stairs to where our room was. No other explanation about the amenities--breakfast--Internet was given. We should have left and located another hotel.
The room was dank and well-worn-- giving it an unclean feeling. Cigarette smoke from the smoking rooms waffed into our room later that night. It was relativley noisey as the work crews and trucks pulled in for their stay. We didn't eat breakfast nor did we ask for maid-service.
We later discovered that there are two brand new hotels on the other side of town-with BETTER gov't/corporate rates. With as many hotels/rooms available this time of of year in Alamosa, this hotel should not be considered as an option.
