“Such luxury and comfort, we are spoiled from now on!”

Hubby and I splurged on a weekend at the Inn during a trip to the island this fall to run in an annual race held in Catalina. We'd eyed the Inn, set majestically at the top of a hill, during one our previous visits to the island and dreamed of staying there. The visit surpassed our wildest expectations and has spoiled us for life - there will be no way we can come to Catalina in the future without returning to the Inn on Mt. Ada!
The service is exceptional - you're met at the ferry by the host and taken up to the Inn where you're given a tour of the facilities. Our room (#3, the Windsor Room) has an incredible corner view and the most cozy fireplace. The bathroom was adorably vintage in its fixtures.
The staff are attentive, very accessible, and will arrange anything that you might need - dinner reservations, tours, etc.
The amenities are simply over the top and set the Inn apart from any other B&B experience. Each evening, there are appetizers and wine in the bar, and your room rate also includes breakfast and lunch in the Inn's gorgeous dining room overlooking the quaint Avalon harbor below. If the weather is nice, you're invited to dine outside on the patio. There is a butler's pantry stocked with drinks, snacks and even ice cream sundae ingredients - available 24 hours a day. Carmen and her staff in the kitchen are delightful and serve delicious traditional meals at breakfast and lunch with a Mexican special each day - the Barbacoa was incredible! Your stay also includes the unlimited use of a golf cart for travel around Avalon. If you don't feel like carting yourself, the staff will arrange for taxi service.
Staying here made me feel just a bit guilty as I felt that I'd rather lounge around at the Inn, all cozy and relaxed, than do much exploring of Avalon. (Although, if that's the Inn's only short-coming, I guess there really isn't much to complain about, is there?)
We are already looking forward to a return visit next year when we're back for our race! Thank you staff at the Inn at Mt. Ada!

Room Tip: The Windsor Room has an incredible corner view!

“Remains the best”

We've been here before, and it remains the best on Catalina. Good company, good food, great views, impressive inn. Not cheap, but worth the price considering the full use of a golf cart, and two large means.

Room Tip: The Grand Suite is the top of the line.

“Luxurious!”

Yep... just visited Mt. Ada again and I am happy to report that some things do not change... thank goodness!

What a beautiful place to stay... great history, great views, great food (be sure to try the breakfast & lunch specials made by Carmen & Martha... yummy)... and don't even think about dieting. There's always freshly baked cookies/brownies and ice cream available! And, for you early birds, breakfast bran muffins, coffee & tea are brought upstairs for you to serve yourself... you never have to be hungry here! But, you can get plenty of good walks here... maybe work off a few calories (that's what I tell myself!).

The folks that manage and maintain this lovely house do such a great job to create a very friendly and comfortable environment and you always get a chance to meet the other great guests during their happy hour (complete with hot appetizers, champagne, wine & beer).

Hope you will pamper yourself and go here... we think it's the best B&B we have ever visited.

Room Tip: Our favorite rooms are the Grand suite (very large with it's own sitting room, fireplace & l...

We have been going to the Inn for over 20 years for our anniversary. We absolutely love going! It's like you're in another time frame . . . life slows down and you can actually relax.
The Inn keepers are very friendly and helpful. There are only 6 rooms, so you meet the other guests and chat . . . Breakfast is always fabulous. The lunch is good - and sitting out on the terrace overlooking Avalon bay is delightful. In the evenings, there's wine and appetizers = we often find we cannot go eat anything else after all the food we've ingested all day. There's always drinks and cookies available all day. The golf cart you get will get you anywhere you want to go. The place is decorated like when the Wrigleys were there, but is updated to be quite comfortable. It's worth the price!

Room Tip: room 6 is pretty small, each room has it's own character. The corner room (Windsor Room) has sp...
