You feel like you're in Little Italy at Villa Portofino, with the comfortable booths along the wall giving you plenty of privacy and space. They play perfectly appropriate music on the stereo that adds to the ambiance. The wine selection is perfect. I got a lovely Pinot Grigio. Our waitress was Betty and she was a total doll. Sweet and attentive, definitely good at her job. I ordered the Angelhair with Checca Sauce and was craving the Caesars Salad, but didn't want to eat a whole $10 salad by myself before my entree, so she informed me that the pastas come with salads and I could upgrade to get the Caesars for $5 which made me very happy! And it came with fabulous anchovies! So good! The Angelhair was exactly how I like it. My boyfriend got the Primavera and enjoyed it a lot. The house salad is very good that comes with the entrees. The bread is super good and of course I immediately love a place that already has the olive oil and balsalmic on the table! The busboy was very old school quiet, but did his job perfectly. When our bill came, we were surprised how low it actually was. We took our leftovers to go! We even had the pleasure of meeting Russ Armstrong, the owner of Villa Portofino and Armstrong's Seafood. He was a delightfully sweet man. I shall look forward to visiting with him again upon my return to the Island! I definitely recommend this restaurant for a romantic and wonderful meal and experience!
