My extended family and I really enjoyed our stay at the Hamilton Cove Villas (villa 17-85). It was clean and spacious with a wrap around deck that showcased the amazing views of Avalon. Nestled into a hillside we felt like we could have been in Greece or Spain. Just a 5 minute or so ride from the busy tourist town, it has a small outdoor pool that overlooks the ocean and a small park on a little private beach, that was a great for my two small children. We enjoyed the fact that the villas were located outside of town as it gets especially busy when the cruise liners dock for the day. The kids especially loved the golf cart that is the common form of transport on the island. We would definately return.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THIS PLACE. Second time we have stayed here. We stayed in unit 4-12 and 4-13 this time. These two units are right next to eachother, share a balcony, and no one is on either side. Perfect for privacy and fun. The kitchens were great to cook in and boy did we save money buying fresh fish in town and doing a bbq for the 8 of us. Tons of space in these units almost 1500 square feet in each. Says it sleeps 6, but you really could fit more if you brought aero beds. 36 steps is not a lot, trust me, we had 78 last year. The golf carts are great. They only fit 4 in each, though. Pool and snorkel cover are very close. KIDS 8, 10 & 14 had a great time as well as the grandparents.. Descanso beach is really close too. Much nicer than staying in town. Links to units below.

We stayed in unit 5/7 and it was a beautiful upgraded corner unit with a private balcony. The kitchen was well stocked. This unit even had a washer/dryer. The view was spectacular and made for a very romantic weekend. The use of the golf cart made our trip easy to get around and very fun. The owner even stopped by to fix a minor issue. If you plan to stay at this resort make sure you understand the location of the unit. Some units require walking up several steps. There is no elevator. We didn't mind but we only had a short walk. I would definitely stay here again.

Just got back from a weekend at Hamilton Cove with extended family celebrating a special birthday. So special that we were happy to splurge a bit for 2 condos to house our family of 9. Until check out it went well. It's pretty there. The units were lovely though far from each other inconveniencing meal prep and hanging out. The big problem was a phone call from the management saying that not only did we need to be out at 10 am instead of 11 but we needed to wash and put away all the dishes and take out the trash and recycling. We had filled the dishwasher but had not run it. What we really hadn't wanted that weekend was Granny scrubbing pots with us but that how it went. I couldn't think of another hotel that made departure so much work and this was supposed to be a luxurious place. The person in the rental office named Esther was downright cranky.

We have stayed in Hamilton Cove many times and Hamilton Cove is the best place to stay on Catalina. Be sure to talk to the rental agent to get the particulars on each condo. I spoke to Bart who owns Hamilton Cove Rentals and he was very helpful describing the location and ambiance of the condo. We stayed in 11-55 and it was beautiful. It is obvious the owners have pride of ownership. The beds were very comfortable and the condo is immaculate. The only downside is a very old and uncomfortable golf cart. There were four of us and the two in the back seat could get sick from the gas fumes...no way you would tour the island in that thing. If they got a better golf cart the unit would be perfect. Loved our stay.
