“Comfortable and Enjoyable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012

We had to go to Arroyo Grande, CA unexpectedly this week. We didn't really have time or forethought to do an on-line search for a place to stay. When we got to the area we did a GPS seach and came up with several Hotel/Motels that were within a 5 mile radius of the place we needed to be early the next morning. I started calling them to see if there were vacancies and if they were pet friendly as we always travel with our little dog if we are going to be gone longer than a day. Many of the Hotels/Motels did not allow pets and some were very rude on the phone making it easy not to choose those particular places. (Customer Service?) We called the Best Western Casa Grande Inn and they were friendly and did accept pets. The price was reasonable too at 62.00 per night with a $20.00 pet charge. Keep in mind the price will go up during the tourist season. The property is beautiful with a very nice pool and hot tub, a meandering water feature and beautiful and clean landscaping. Our room was large with 2 queen beds, a decent sized bathroom and dressing area, an ironing board and iron, microwave, refrigerator and coffee pot. The beds were comfortable, clean and the linens were fresh smelling. The only negatives of the room were there was a lack of lighting overhead with several low light lamps through-out the room but not enough in the vanity area to adequately put on make up etc. The only other issue was there was some spots in the carpet but you could see there had been an attempt to clean them. They provide a complimentary breakfast in a small room that had tables and chairs, lots of windows and was really pretty pleasant albeit small. There were 3 types of cold cereal, instant oatmeal, hard boiled eggs, fresh fruit ie: apples, oranges, bananas, make yourself a waffle with premeasured batter for convenience, yogurt, 2% and skim milk, orange juice, hot water, cold water, coffee and or tea, there was also bread for toast and some muffin type breads. My only complaint there was the coffee was strong enough to walk by itself.
We had a very comfortable stay and would stay there again.

Room Tip: They advertise no pets but when we called and asked they said yes they do allow pets. I would sugge...

housekeeping has half days before you reserve room...no more....holiday inn express
next time...they know the hospitality business!

“Great value and location for the money!”

The area felt very safe and the hotel is actually quite large. The room we had had a living room, fridge, and microwave. For the two of us, it was huge! The "continental" breakfast was quite extensive with a make-your-own-waffle bar and fruit, cereal, drinks, etc. Overall, I think we paid $75 but ended up eating probably $30 worth of hotel food at breakfast between the two of us. It was a really great experience! Make sure you put the do not disturb sign on the door. The housekeeping is on it at 9 am! O, and you may need to ask for an extra blanket if you are there in the winter time. The down comforter doesn't quite do the job. Try to get a 2nd story room if you can. Otherwise, no complaints!

Room Tip: 2nd floor toward the back of the hotel! Less noise from early risers.

“Good value, pet friendly”

This is a good value for your $ if you need a place that allows dogs. The Best Western in SLO is more modern, but it's also more expensive. The hotel was quiet enough; the room was clean; and, the breakfast was an unexpected bonus. We weren't thrilled they didn't clean our room after our 1st night there, however. They never actually went inside, though we left for day tripping by 10 a.m. We've stayed here before and will stay here again if we can't get into the BW SLO.

Room Tip: If you have pets, you need to let the hotel know when you're making your reservation. Apparentl...

“Good value”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

This was one of the cheaper hotels I found in the area, booked thru the Best Western site, and was a good value. Rooms were quiet, roomy, clean. Okay continental breakfast with make your own waffles, hard boiled eggs, cereals, ect. Nice looking swimming pool and hot tub that we did not try. No view but that was fine with me.
