I AGONIZED over selecting an LA hotel for our week-long stay that offered a safe, convenient location and free breakfast, parking, and WI-FI. We LOVED the Hampton Inn Arcadia!!! We drove past other Hampton Inn LA locations and could not have been more pleased that we selected this one. This hotel was the BEST choice during our 2 week vacation (including other Hampton Inns, Hyatt, and Bed & Breakfast). Here's why:
1. close to expressway; 20 min from Burbank and convenient to LA destinations
2. better than most buffet breakfasts~~better Hampton variety, including meat each day, and plentiful, even as the end of breakfast neared. Always well-stocked!
3. plentiful, freshly made cookies were available even when we arrived after 8pm
4. safe, attractive, upscale area
5. could walk to a variety of restaurants and even more were within easy driving distance
6. beds were sooo comfy, even compared to our thermapedic mattress
7. room was decently quiet, even across from elevator!
8. dining area was never too crowded; clientele (September 2011) was mostly business people
9. friendly, professional staff

Choosing the Hampton Inn Aradia really added to our comfort and fun. We LOVED LOVED LOVED the Hampton Inn Arcadia (and have stayed in quite a few from east coast to west coast). Choose this hotel/location for business/family trips.

While the hotel is your typical Hampton for the most part, the gal taking the reservation provided false and misleading information when booking the reservation. For example, asked if there was a pool and was told yes. What she did not add was that the pool was under construction and had no water in it. It was just like the commercial, had never had this happened before and that was just the start. We were able to use another hotel's pool across the parking lot so worked out okay, but i the hospitality business setting correct expectations is the first key to a happy customer. This hotel has a lot to learn in that regard. Expensive for what you get, although the free breakfast is a plus. Renovation should be done soon, so will be nice and upgraded for a year or two when that is done.

I really don't expect much from this brand but I really do appreciate what they feature: free breakfast and wi-fi and a clean place to stay with while allowing me to accrue some points in my HHonors account. The HI Arcadia is no different. Nothing awe-inspiring, but on the flipside nothing awful (thankfully!). If you want more frills, then Hilton Worldwide has an Embassy Suites and Doubletree nearby (which works great if you need to mattress run to requalify for HHonors Silver/Gold/Diamond!).

One thing, I've found great was what's nearby! There's quite a few places to eat such as Capital Seafood(a dim sum place), a steakhouse, Souplantation, BJs, Olive Garden, etc. It was great to just conveniently walk to a restaurant with some good food after a long day and just prior to settling into bed.

For those that take public transit (yes, it is possible in LA!), I found that Foothill Transit #187 convenient for linking me between this property and Metro's Sierra Madre Villa station. The stop itself is a block away.

This was a very nice place, with a nice room. The only problem was the air conditioner/heater which was very noisy. Fortunately, I didn't need to use it much and reported the problem.
