“Last minute trip”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 November 2011

My family did a last minute trip to Knott's Berry Farm. When looking for a hotel I always check the reviews to get a good idea of where we will be staying. The Baymont Inn had some good reviews. Upon arriving we saw the neighborhood was so so, we weren't to thrilled about it considering we had 2 little ones. But as soon as we pulled in we saw the Baymont was a nice motel. The outside was very clean and the lobby was very nice. The staff was very friendly and made me feel at ease that our car would be safe with their cameras and staff. My family also appreciated the guest door that needed a guess key if you wanted to enter the motel rooms! Our room was nice and clean, i searched our beds for bed bugs to find they had a protected bed cover to keep the mattress from absorbing any fluids and dirt and that let me know this was a clean and well looked over place. We had plenty of pillows and towels. The room was very clean and we appreciated the beverage and snack food vending machines. They also had the kids t.v. channels which was surprising and great for us along with a good variety for me and my husband and the complementary WiFi! They also had a convent pizza place that delivered- it wasn't the best but works out if you don't want to leave and have an easy meal. For the low price i feel we got a steal! I would recommend the Baymont to anyone with a last minute trip and just need a place for over night or two.

Room Tip: Read the guest reviews, pictures of the hotel/motel and map out the location so you know where exact...

“Great Place To Stay!!!!”

For us middle class people who want to go to a hotel to just sleep at a reasonable price, what a great surprise! The hotel might not be directly across Disneyland and might not be the prettiest area (not a bad area either), but a very friendly, nice and clean hotel! Will plan all hotel reservation to Baymont for all future trips to Disneyland. Staff so nice and friendly, rooms are all non-smoking and so clean and neat and updated. The hotel continental breakfast was quite good and we didn't feel the need to find a restaurant to eat. Enjoyed out stay immensely and would recommend this hotel to everyone!!!

“just became a Baymont, so give it a little time”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 November 2011

I stayed at this hotel a handful times in the last few years when it was a Holiday Inn Express. Then for less than a year it became a Magnuson, and now it's just become a Baymont. (This stay was my first return since it stopped being a Holiday Inn Express.)

The property has part indoor and part outdoor corridors. The elevator is in the outdoor section.

The room I was in looked remodeled nicely (although I was in a different part of the hotel than I had ever stayed in when it was an HIX), and they still have 70+ channel true analog cable on big (though still tube) TVs. Bed and pillows were very comforable, and room was very clean. Heat/cool worked perfectly.

There are still traces of Magnuson around. There's still a Magnuson sticker on the phone, and the internet (which uses a security key) still has Magnuson in the internet names. The internet worked very well.

The hotel was a little hard to find in the dark because they have a new Baymont sign on order but haven't gotten it yet, and the one banner they hung up with Baymont signage wasn't easy to see from the street (especially headed south on Beach toward hotel). But this should improve soon.

At least some of the staff have carried over through the brand changes, since the check-in clerk recognized me from my stays when it was an HIX (and joked about how I'm not being loyal to Holiday Inn Express!). Check in and check out were both quick, and billing was accurate. (I had booked through WyndhamRewards, the points program for Baymont/Super 8/Travelodge/etc.)

The breakfast has been redone to Baymont standards, which are similar to HIX but a little more focus on warm stuff. (They still have both 2% and skim milk, yaay!)

The one thing I noticed missing was the newspaper. I didn't see one, and asked about it, and they said they had none. I couldn't remember whether Baymont should have one, so after leaving the hotel I checked the Baymont "hospitality" site (http://www.hometownhospitalitytour.com/) and if click Home and then click over the newspaper (on the table with the lamp), it says you're supposed to get a free USA Today in the lobby at any Baymont. I presume this is another "growing pain", in that perhaps they stopped having a newspaper when they became a Magnuson and may not have had time to start up delivery yet since becoming a Baymont.

As already noted, this location is "off to the side" of an Anaheim, away from the bustling center. But the nice thing about that is that it's quiet. (The lobby is the only thing at the street end, and this part of Beach Blvd is not very busy at night anyway. So it's much quieter in your room than it may be in some hotels nearer to the Anaheim "action".)

“Pleasantly Surprised!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 November 2011 via mobile

Spent 2 nights during our trip to Disney. Was a little unsure as to what to expect for the low price, but was extremely surprised. Comfortable beds, very clean, quiet, and felt safe. The staff was helpful, and polite. Would definitely stay again.

“Disneyland Trip”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 October 2011

This was a "last minute" reservation, since I was unable to reserve the Timeshare I recently required. I was very "surprised" to find such a nice, relaxing atomsphere. The rooms were quite spacious and clean.

Currently, they had the gym & internet room closed due to remodeling (changing to Wyndham).

One suggestion for the Free Breakfast in the morning, the 'hot' items could be "hotter", it was barely warm.
