My #1 reason for choosing this hotel was its convenient location within walking distance (about 15 min along very safe Harbor Blvd) to Disneyland. But even with all the pre-trip internet research, what a pleasant surprise the whole experience turned out to be! I previously stayed at a lovely suites hotel a mile farther away, but it's too far to walk, they charge for parking, AND you have to ride to Disney in their shuttle bus for an extra $4/person/day charge. There are actually many fine, name-brand hotels in this area, but you are going to have to pay a premium of $160-250 or more... plus the ridiculous "resort" fees. Beware of the many lesser shlocky older motels in the immediate area around Disney. They may offer a lower price but those properties are often very dated, loud, unclean, lacking in amenities and get poor on-line reviews.
That's why I'm so excited that I found this Holiday Inn Express as the very BEST COMPROMISE when staying close to Disney. It is very clean, nice, well-maintained, has a super-friendly staff, in-room fridge, comfy bed and pillows, quiet rooms facing away from the street, elevator, pool and inviting jacuzzi (bring your bathing suit even in winter- I forgot mine). Walk to Disneyland and very reasonable rates. For me, besides the price and location, the best perk was FREE PARKING during the stay. There is no other free parking anywhere around here because Disneyland and the neighboring hotels can charge $10-15/day. Here is the SURPRISE BONUS that won me over: I arrived too early to check in but still wanted to enjoy an early start on my Disney day, so they gave me a parking pass and a garage key so I could park and leave the car there until coming back to check in later! I missed the free hot breakfast and I didn't use the free wireless internet during my stay, but they are included. Finally, the staff was really awesome. The housekeepers all smile and are friendly as they go about their work on the grounds. The front desk staff was genuinely welcoming and efficient, especially ARTHUR who went out of his way to be sure we had everything we needed; very personable and gracious. On check-out, a lady manager personally thanked us in the lobby for staying at their property and asked us to please consider staying with them on the next visit. It felt like we had stayed with friends. For all of these reasons, I would definitely stay here again when visiting Disney.
***ADDED BONUS FOOD TIP: Around the corner in the little strip mall (as you walk toward Disney) is a little Mexican food place called ALERTOS with the best $4 breakfast (or lunch) burrito on the planet. Get one, they are huge, cut in half, eat half while walking to the Disney park (filling, yummy) and have the other half later when you get hungry again... saves lots of money not having to fill up on Disney food when you first arrive. Now go enjoy the Happiest Place on Earth, knowing you can walk on back for a mid-day nap.

We have many people that want to check in early and head to the park. We do our best to accomodate. If we can't get you into your room right away (before actual arrival time), then we can get you a parking pass to park and/or we are also happy to hold your luggage for you.
Thanks for the great review. We look forward to your next stay.
