I think the Best Western Courtesy Inn is a nice little secret that not many people know about. The location is pretty cool - getting TO the park is a .6 mile walk around the Mickey and Friend's Parking Lot and then a tram ride to the park. (east on Ball, south on Disney way to Magic way - there's the lot, catch a tram). Coming back, you take the tram to the parking lot, escalator up to the second floor, walk all the way to the back, back down the stairs, out the back parking lot and there's the hotel! So nice for a return to the hotel after a long day at Disneyland! They give you instructions at the front desk.
The room was perfect for our needs. Comfy bed, good pillows, and CLEAN! A bit noisy on Ball road (but we used to live next to a highway, so maybe we're used to it) and the shower was a little hard to turn on - but once on, worked fine.
The breakfast was fine. Better than some hotels I've been in, not as good as others. It's good for "to-go" if you are in a hurry to get to the parks. All the juice and milk is in cartons. The coffee has lids if you need it. All the pastries/muffins are packaged. They had microwavable Jimmy Dean breakfast muffins and Pillsbury mini-pancakes. There was also some fruit. Our room had a microwave and fridge, so we got a little tray and took it all back upstairs to eat with cartoons. :) I even took some extra the day before we would leave and kept it in our fridge so when we had to leave early the next day, I could fix us breakfast - we had to check out before 7am when breakfast is ready.
The staff is GREAT! Answered all my questions about getting to the parks and back. They took our luggage the last day and held it behind the desk for us until we reutrned that afternoon from the parks to catch our shuttle to the airport. AND THEN they helped us most of all. Our shuttle (Disney Express Bus by Grayline) was supposed to get us at 4:45. We stood outside on Ball Road by the sign for over a half hour and they never showed up! My son had to use the bathroom and after several calls to the shuttle service, they decided to send another bus and let us have time to use the bathroom. The WONDEFUL lady at the desk (who was suprised to see us still here!) gave me a room key and let us RUN to the bathroom. She was SO understanding and helpful. So, a bit of advice if you decide to us Disney Express - they do not have this hotel on their normal routes. You have to call the day before to arrange and pick-up (which I did). They will then take you all the way to the Disneyland hotel to then catch yet another bus to the airport. If I had known that, I would have taken our bags via the tram, to Downtown Disney and walked our selves over to the Disneyland hotel and got rid of a lot of worry! Getting to the hotel via that bus isn't an issue. Just returning. If you have more than two people, do a taxi! You'll be assured a ride that way. All is well. Our plane ended up leaving an hour late anyway. The stress was aweful, but the Best Western Courtesy Inn staff was wonderful.
I will be back - good price, good location, nice little hotel!
