“Walking distance to Disney”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 December 2011

This is a great little secret! I read the good and bad reviews and found our stay to be delightful. The location is excellent, just off the highway. Its within walking distance of the Disney Parking lot so you can walk to the lot then catch the Disney tram to the gate. The only tip I have is to reverse the return directions for your trip to Disney. Its shorter and while you are walking into the exit of the parking area its not an issue. I have young kids and the walk was quite easy for them both. The breakfast is mostly microwave pancakes and sausage sandwiches with oatmeal and danishes, but we enjoyed it. We don't ask a lot. We did eat in our room most nights with the microwave but we did that by design. You will hear the fireworks from Disney at night but if you walk a bit into the parking lot you'll be able to see them. The pool was clean. The parking lot was small but we never had a problem. Heck you park, you walk to Downtown Disney and Disney so I didn't need to worry. The water pressure was great, the room was clean. We were happy and got to spend more time at Disney and spend our money there and not on the room which was our goal. The staff was really friendly and helpful. Very nice.

“Perfect for our needs- nice people!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 November 2011

I think the Best Western Courtesy Inn is a nice little secret that not many people know about. The location is pretty cool - getting TO the park is a .6 mile walk around the Mickey and Friend's Parking Lot and then a tram ride to the park. (east on Ball, south on Disney way to Magic way - there's the lot, catch a tram). Coming back, you take the tram to the parking lot, escalator up to the second floor, walk all the way to the back, back down the stairs, out the back parking lot and there's the hotel! So nice for a return to the hotel after a long day at Disneyland! They give you instructions at the front desk.

The room was perfect for our needs. Comfy bed, good pillows, and CLEAN! A bit noisy on Ball road (but we used to live next to a highway, so maybe we're used to it) and the shower was a little hard to turn on - but once on, worked fine.

The breakfast was fine. Better than some hotels I've been in, not as good as others. It's good for "to-go" if you are in a hurry to get to the parks. All the juice and milk is in cartons. The coffee has lids if you need it. All the pastries/muffins are packaged. They had microwavable Jimmy Dean breakfast muffins and Pillsbury mini-pancakes. There was also some fruit. Our room had a microwave and fridge, so we got a little tray and took it all back upstairs to eat with cartoons. :) I even took some extra the day before we would leave and kept it in our fridge so when we had to leave early the next day, I could fix us breakfast - we had to check out before 7am when breakfast is ready.

The staff is GREAT! Answered all my questions about getting to the parks and back. They took our luggage the last day and held it behind the desk for us until we reutrned that afternoon from the parks to catch our shuttle to the airport. AND THEN they helped us most of all. Our shuttle (Disney Express Bus by Grayline) was supposed to get us at 4:45. We stood outside on Ball Road by the sign for over a half hour and they never showed up! My son had to use the bathroom and after several calls to the shuttle service, they decided to send another bus and let us have time to use the bathroom. The WONDEFUL lady at the desk (who was suprised to see us still here!) gave me a room key and let us RUN to the bathroom. She was SO understanding and helpful. So, a bit of advice if you decide to us Disney Express - they do not have this hotel on their normal routes. You have to call the day before to arrange and pick-up (which I did). They will then take you all the way to the Disneyland hotel to then catch yet another bus to the airport. If I had known that, I would have taken our bags via the tram, to Downtown Disney and walked our selves over to the Disneyland hotel and got rid of a lot of worry! Getting to the hotel via that bus isn't an issue. Just returning. If you have more than two people, do a taxi! You'll be assured a ride that way. All is well. Our plane ended up leaving an hour late anyway. The stress was aweful, but the Best Western Courtesy Inn staff was wonderful.

I will be back - good price, good location, nice little hotel!

Room Tip: Ask for non-smoking if you want it. Check in is after 2pm.

“Excellent Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 November 2011

Had a great stay here, this hotel is rated as a 2 Diamond by AAA, but is much better than that. Very nicely appointed rooms, top sheeted beds, lots of pillows, free Wi-Fi. We asked for extra towels and received them. Excellent location, very clean, very close to Disneyland. The continental breakfast was pretty good, hot & cold cereal, toast, danish, fruit, juice. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Free parking, when other hotels in the area charge $8 to $12 a day. We had an excellent time and would not hesitate to stay there again.

“One of the worst hotels I've stayed in”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 October 2011

We've stayed at BW hotels before, and never had any issues or complaints.. until we checked in here.

The hotel's parking lot is tiny. There are only 3 very tiny rooms with King size beds, one per level, jammed into a corner next to the VERY NOISY elevator. The maid service was seriously lacking. The tv and internet power leads were plugged into a $2 extension lead that ran through the closet door frame into the room; which got knocked out of the wall every time you put something in the closet. The TV only got 13 channels; 5 of which were the same network, adult swim and 3 of the cartoon network. The "continental breakfast" consisted of nasty, horrible coffee and microwaveable Jimmy breakfast biscuits kept in a bowl of ice, stale pastries and bread.. and cereal if you were lucky enough to find it! (needless to say, we did breakfast elsewhere)

After our first night we returned to our room after 3pm to find it had not been cleaned/made up. Every day afterward (we only stayed because the room had been prepaid!!) little things caught my attention; no fresh coffee for the coffee maker, the coffee maker hadn't been cleaned out, obvious garbage items had not picked up/thrown away, etc. Oh yeah, the "bed cover" immediately came off the bed first thing (it had stains on it. eww). The management did apologize when I complained about the maid service being unacceptable (and sent someone straight away to clean it, but we still had to wait outside our room), and when we checked out, we were refunded one night (it does one good to complain nicely without being a jerk).

Yes, this is very close to Disney, but I would NOT recommend it to anyone. Spend the extra few dollars and stay somewhere nice and roomy like the Anaheim Plaza Hotel.

Room Tip: Avoid this place!

“Not bad, but very poor value for the money”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 October 2011

First of all let me say that I have stayed in many Best Westerns and I travel a lot for work, so I have nothing against them, and have been fortunate to stay in some good ones. This was not one of them. Breakfast was very weak, only had cereal and fattening muffins/danish. Again, if I was staying in a Motel 6 or paying under $50 per night, that might be ok, but since I paid twice that, I expected a lot more. Also, parking is an absolute nightmare, very small lot and very cramped. Once I could not even find a spot. Lastly, I got my 7:15am wake up call at 8:30am, which made me late for my business appointment. I would not stay here again.
