After a long day driving from all the way from Vegas I was looking forward to a beer, something to eat and a good night's sleep.
When we arrived we found there was a convention on that night and the lobby was absolutely packed, we checked in and the lady was very charming and welcoming. My first impression was that the hotel was modern, clean, in a good location and certainly popular.
Our room was right beside an elevator, add that to the convention and the kids using the elevator as a toy ... all night ... you get the picture. In and out of sleep all night until about 7AM when I cracked and went downstairs to vent.
The lady was apologetic and gave us another room but I had to ask for the first night to be deducted from the bill. As I wandered off to get some coffee and a bite to eat I was wondering what sort of place we'd ended up in.
I didn't need to be concerned, for the rest of our stay everything was absolutely brilliant, the room, staff, food, facilities and location are all excellent. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable and quiet (rooms 4xx).
Lots of restaurants downstairs, a starbucks and a shop, the bar menu is simple and tasty and the food in the hotel restaurant was delicious if a little expensive.
The hotel is right next door to Disney so the ideal location if that's your thing, alternatively there's good facilities nearby, a shopping mall, cinema, restaurant, bars and shops. LA is LA so you've got to drive and it seemed to be 30/35 minutes to everywhere we wanted to visit. I was surprised to have to pay for parking as a guest but I guess that's the norm in this city.
This review may have started like I was going to slate the place, far from it, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to you.
PS.
Shortly after I returned home I got an email from the hotel enquiring after my stay, I reported the issue I had and was replied to promptly by one of the managers (Fred) offering me a 2 night stay when next I'm in LA, I must say that was a first for me and I will take him up on it :).
Room Tip: Make sure your room is far away from the elevators
