“Shocked at this hotels excuses!”

I can tell you that this hotel does not care what you think about it. We called this hotel directly to express our concerns in their take on "hospitality": Which as recently noted, involves personal attacks on consumer reviews and public shaming. Please take some ownership!
I encourage you to scan back through the reviews and look at the way this hotel responds, and can tell you from first hand experience they are just like this in person. I would also encourage you to look at local hotels in the area and spend the extra 50 bucks a night for a better experience.

As for my stays:
I have nothing outrageously terrible to say about this hotel. I have nothing moderately terrible to say about this hotel. It is, just a hotel. There is a bed to sleep in, and you will have a decent night's sleep. There is a shower, and you can bathe in it and then afterwards, there are these things called towels which you can dry yourself off with. It is several blocks away from Disneyland, but hey, you've walked all day, you can walk some more. My husband and I stayed here multiple times in 2010 and 2011. We are annual passholders and until summer of last year, this hotel was one of the cheaper, better options out there. The experience is very hands off/bare bones depending on the way you look at it. It serves its purpose. That being said, the staff's apathy soon grated on us, until one night when checking in, we decided not to stay there- paid the full night anyway because of the cancellation policy, and found a "home" of sorts in the nearby Hampton inn. They are very willing to negotiate on price, the service in impeccable and they have a free shuttle to Disneyland.

Last stay at the cortona was in July of 2011, we are never looking back.

read reviews, it wasnt solid performer but after our 3 day stay I am absoubtedly thrilled with my decision to stay @ Cortona Inn.
Spacious lobby where you never felt in the way and we stored 7 bags until early evening when we departed - unpacked repacked ! Large storage rm was great.
Most helpful reception folk looking online for anything I needed to know - breakfast rm staff most kind and cleaning folk very courteous.
Rms were spacious for 5 of us (1 bdrm suite), 2 TVs, fridge, clean bathroom - 3rd floor was very quiet. For the cost I was amazed.
Kids swam - nice pool and towels available.
Breakfast - basic but cereal, coffee juice was most adequate!
Very happy with our location and stay. I would stay again.
Top hints -
Hotel is situated back off the rd so was private and quiet.
Bus stop @ Clarion to catch route to Disney if you are having a "tired day" - walking is fine.
Bus stop outside on Habor for OCTA catch #34 ($4.00 all day pass) to go Target, Big 5 Sports , shoe giant, and other stores.
IHOP - eating was gr8 - cheap and close.
GARDENWALK shopping close walk, variety of clothing stores (very reasonable) and restaurants.
Very happy with our stay - it may be rated 3 star but top class!

Room Tip: 3rd floor for privacy and away from carpark

“Nice location but...”

Stayed here for 3 days after the last NAMM convention so my wife and kids 2 and 4 could go to Disney. While the suite was spacious, upon entering we were met with a powerful mildew smell that never went away even after running air conditioner. Windows would not open btw... Being a non smoking hotel, smokers would congregate on stairwells leaving lots if butts everywhere that we're never picked up and we had to run a gauntlet of smoke everytime we left the room. Continental breakfast was spartan to say the least and one morning the juice had a distinctive moldy flavor. All in all next time we'll stay up the street at the nicer Suites hotel and spend a few extra dollars for clean rooms and better food.

Dear Guest,
Thank you for your review. Your comments are appreciated and as a result of your comments we have increased our signage throughout the hotel to remind guests that smoking is not permitted in the walk ways or within 20 feet of the buildings. Of course, we also appreciate those who do observe the non smoking signs for their concern for guests that do not smoke as well. Just recently, we added sausage patties to our deluxe Continental Breakfast and a new and buttery smooth Premium Roast Black Velvet Coffee. The additon of these two breakfast items in addition to two cold cereal choices, oatmeal, danish, donuts, toast, hard boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, two fresh fruit choices (alternate apples, oranges, bananas), belgian style make your own waffles, english muffins, orange juice, apple juice, tea, milk make for a great money saving breakfast that is complimentary each morning. A true money saver that deliveres a wonderful choice for breakfast. Thanks again for your review!

“I'd stay there again.”

We planned a last minute trip to Disneyland and I really wanted to find a place that was within walking distance, not too expensive, and at least a 3-star place. This hotel fit the bill nicely. It isn't fancy, but it's a solid 3-star AAA rated hotel (this is important to me). It took us 15-20 minutes to walk to D-land, pushing a double stroller. It would've taken much longer for us to drive, park, unload the kids, etc. so I felt good about the walk. (We were even able to walk home for a nap mid-day to re-energize, which I highly recommend if you're traveling with little ones.) Along the way, there were a couple of places to get semi-decent coffee/snacks and any basic things we may have forgotten. We upgraded to the Spa Suite for like $10 extra, and although we never used the giant tub, it was nice to be on the 2nd floor in the corner. It could be loud if you had a 1st floor room, though, since the doors open up to the parking lot. This place was full of families going to Disneyland, so I felt nice and safe and happy. There was a friendly, family vibe. The breakfast worked nicely too. Lots of options for a continental breakfast. I'd definitely stay here again, and the price was right, as we paid just a little over $100 + tax per night. Parking was free, which helped me in my decision to choose it over a 4 star hotel with parking fees.

“Not my first choice.”

I'm not sure how much we paid for the room, but my husband and I stayed two nights in December. Room was fairly clean but there was hair in the tub (eww!) Bathroom was large but no light near the mirror. Access to the room is from the outside so it is more motel than hotel. Both mornings someone was outside our room sweeping which sounded like something trying to get in under our door! Our room was near the elevator so we could hear all the footsteps and talking of everyone coming and going. Heat and air worked fine. Continental breakfast was ok. We've had more choices but it was fine for our needs as it was just the two of us. Walk to Disneyland was a longer than I would have liked and definitely too far for younger kids if not in a stroller. Staff was friendly enough. Didn't try the pool.
We prefer inside access to our room and a shorter walk but there is the ART shuttle you can use for a fee. Also the daily "resort fee" is ridiculous. I wouldn't call this a resort at all. We'll stay somewhere else next time.
