We stayed in this "hotel" in 2006 and I was hoping to find that things had changed. sadly they have not. Here is an excerpt from my trip journal from that trip....
"Got to the Parkside Hotel and Suites to check in and when we opened the doors to our rooms what we saw took our breath away.! The sink in our room was screwed shut and was unusable. Our shower in our room did not work so I had to shower in the boys bathroom where the hot water lasted 3 minutes and the water flow coming out of the spigot was stuck on super turbo jet mode!!" (painful)
"Back to the hotel by 9:30pm and on the phone to hotels.com to get us a better place for the next two nights. This place is atrocious!!!!!!"
Next morning...."We all packed up and went to find our new hotel for the next two nights at the Annabella. WOW! right around the corner and this place is great!! Two rooms, each one with a second mini room with a bed and a TV."
Also of note there were cigarette burns on all the furniture and the A/C was so caked with grease and dust that you wouldn't dare turn it on. The sheets smelled of mildew and my husband's asthma was barely controlled. There were several water stains on the ceiling that were just painted over instead of taken care of properly. The man at the front desk was kind of scary so I really didn't want to complain to him but I had to do something.
Since this trip was booked through hotels.com I called and raised heck with them and since they had a guarantee they said they would find something else for us. The next day...EARLY!!!.... we got in the car and were sent to the Annabella Hotel and that place was GREAT!!! Thank God I called and complained. Hotels.com did right by us and I hope they dropped that "hotel" from their services. We do all our booking through the Disney travel agency now for all our Disney trips.
