“great location, average hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

great location right across the street from the main Disneyland entrance. Make going and coming really easy. Average Rooms, limited parking (1 car per room and they really mean it) contiental breakfast limited, not a lot of selections, seating limited. If you think you'll feed the family before going to the park it won't work. IHOP and McD's nearby.

I would stay here again just because of the location

“As Close To Disneyland As You Can Get”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

This isn’t the nicest or flashiest hotel in the Disneyland area, but it is the closest to the pedestrian entrance and for that reason is worth staying at. Including taxes and fees, I paid $434.36 for five nights, an excellent rate for the convenience.
The rooms are basic, clean and quite large. I stayed in a King bed room.
The staff were all helpful, the deadlock inside my room wouldn’t engage so I went to the front desk to ask if it could be fixed and the maintenance guy was at my door waiting when I returned to my room (I went straight back), I was blown away by how quick it was.
The gift shop in the lobby is very reasonably priced, especially in comparison to neighbouring mini marts. There are any restaurants in close walking distance, including McDonalds, iHop and Dennys. Anaheim Garden Walk is also walkable.
Unfortunately outside noise is a problem. Being right next to the parks, the hotel is full of young families with kids and parents yelling at each other as they walk to and from their rooms, and it sounds like they are yelling right in your ear. For reference, I was on the ground floor towards the back of the hotel.
At the end of a day spent walking around Disneyland or California Adventure every step counts, and being able to just cross the road and be at your hotel makes a huge difference. I will definitely stay here again.

“Excellent Room, Service & Price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

I recently spent 5 nights at this Best Western in Anaheim, and was extremely pleased with the quality of the furnishings, the cleanliness of the room, the front desk staff and the cleaning staff. My only complaint is that the building doesn't have gutters and on the two days that it rained this caused waterfalls over the exterior stairways; there is, however an alternative exit. The complementary breakfast was only so-so, lacking any hot foods.

We had 4 staying in the room and there was plenty of space for everyone. We were attending a convention at the Anaheim Convention Center which was a very pleasant 15 minute walk away. An entrance to Disneyland was right across the street. There were numerous places for a quick meal within a 10 minute walk. The entire area was well-lit with many people walking around and felt completely safe.

We received a convention rate of $114 per night.

“3 Stars - Super Value, Best Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

We stayed at this BW right next to the Disneyland entrance in early January 2012 for 3 nights. We consider ourselves "Disney pro's", having been 3 times now. For us it was about location; picking the best decent hotel as close as possible, because our approach to Disney has us get there early, leave mid afternoon, and return in the evening. All without having to take out a mortgage. This place seemed to fit the bill.

Pro's:
1. Location: WOW. It is literally the closest lodging to Magic Kingdom possible, even more than the horrible, disappointing and overpriced Disney offerings (we stayed at the horrible, overpriced Grand Californian last time; see my TA review). A 5-10 minute walk has you at the MK or DCA gates. So this place is good if you want to leave the parks and rest or just do something different for a few hours. Also, it has excellent and cheap(er) food offerings in the area (try Fire and Ice in the nearby mall), including IHOP right next door. Getting onto the highway is a 1 minute drive (without the noise in your room though). Location cannot be beat.

2. Cleanliness: This place was clean and tidy. The rooms are a bit tired and not beautiful at all, but for 3 stars and $99/night, it works well. The money saved can be put to many other good uses. Also, rooms have fridges, microwaves, coffee machines.

3. Parking: Good, convenient, cheap parking.

4. Free WiFi.

Con's:
1. Rooms: As I mentioned they are a bit tired, somewhat musty smelling. Top floor access can be difficult due to one elevator (we used stairs so did not care).

2. Aircon: We did not use it much owing to it being winter. But it is old and noisy, but effective from what we could tell.

3. Breakfast: Included in your rate is a buffet breakfast at the adjoining Capt Kidd's buffet. Horrible, lame, brutal. But then for $99/night at the best location in Disneyland, something has to give. Starbucks a short drive away, IHOP next door. Or go buy some staples at the minimart next door.

Conclusion: This was an incredible value at an incredible location. This is no frills, no luxury. We would come back here.

Room Tip: Ask for a top floor room on the far east side.

Thank you for providing such a detailed review of our property. It will help us focus on needed areas of improvement. I am pleased you enjoyed your stay with us. We do look forward to having you stay with us again. For a more pleasant stay your next visit, I would like to address a couple of points. The AC units used daily. If the one in your room seems too loud, please let us know. If it needs replaced, it can be done in about 10 minutes with a new one. We do have two elevators available. They are on opposite sides of the pool. For our continental breakfast, it appears there may be a misunderstanding of where ours is located. It is next door at Captain Kidds but is not part of their buffet. We host breakfast on their second floor. It consists of biscuits and gravy, bagels, toast, muffins, cereal, fruit, oatmeal, yogurt, juices, coffee and milk. We are also in the process of introducing pancakes, scrambled eggs and sausage.

We hope to see you again soon.

Thank you and take care.

“Great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

We stayed at the Park Place Inn for one night in January. We have previously stayed here on other trips to Disneyland. We were surprised to find a king room her for $89 on a Saturday night (AAA rate), so it was no question whether or not we would pick this hotel for that night.
Upon arriving at the hotel, we were quickly checked in and given our parking pass. Parking is $8/night, but this is becoming pretty standard for hotels around Disneyland. Our room wasn't ready yet since we checking in before 2:00, so we parked the car and headed over to Disneyland for a bit. You can't beat the location of this property! We came back just after 3:00 and were given room 163, which is on the north side of the property.
The accommodations were pretty standard for the Best Westerns in the area, but the couch in the king room was nice for an extra place to sit. The room was very clean, but a bit noisy. We could easily hear people walking by our room outside and the kid galloping across the room above us. I believe running the air/heat would have reduced this noise, but with the mild weather that day, we never turned on the air. The bed was pretty comfortable, and I had plenty of hot water for my shower in the morning. Our only complaint is that my husband had a slight allergic reaction to the hand/body soap provided. His hands became swollen after using it. Thank goodness he realized this before using it in the shower! He suggested that the hotel provides another option for hand soap that doesn't have all the "smelly stuff" in it. Just something basic.
Breakfast in the morning was pretty average, but filling enough for us. We wished they had the waffle makers with a batter dispenser like we have seen at other Best Westerns, but the choices of cereals, fruits, pastries, and biscuits and gravy were sufficient. Hubby said the coffee was nice and strong!
I would not hesitate to stay here again, but next time I would request a room further back in the hotel and on a higher floor to hopefully reduce the noise. We also realized the we prefer the south side of the property as you are given more of a view.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on a higher floor and toward the back. These will most likely be quieter as they are...
