I stayed in one of the upgraded rooms, and it was clean and very functional. No complaints. Pool was clean and refreshing. Service was friendly.
I will say that Zaby's looks like a hotel in transition. There is no obvious construction activity, but they are gradually repainting the rooms and completely replacing the bathroom and kitchenette features. I didn't see any of the older rooms, but if the remaining original built-in in my room is any indication, I can see why some people were a little turned off (kinda paint-splattered, missing handles on drawers, &c.). The remaining headboards do not match the fresh paint, granite countertops, and crown moulding, either. But eventually, I'm sure they'll figure it all out.
