The Fairfield Inn in American Canyon was a pleasant surprise. I didn't check in until late at night - 10 pm. The front desk staff was wonderful. Checked me in, was quick, efficient and friendly. Provided a restaurant choice for lunch the next day with coupon. The room was well maintained and nicely decorated. It had a small kitchen, couch, king bed and plenty of space in the bathroom. The bed was comfortable and everything clean. Breakfast in the morning included hot and cold options - including Silk milk. I definately would recommend this hotel - it was a great value for under $100.

In it's own way, this Fairfield Inn is a top of the line property for being a basic chain hotel. No, don't expect luxury, but you can also expect a better value and experience than, say, at the adjacent Holiday Inn Express, where I have also stayed. As others have noted, the room doors here do not slam shut, but close gradually. No noise along the hallways with late arrivers or early departures. Free wifi was fast and easy to get onto. Nice exercise room. the king room we had was spacious and comfortable and included a fridge, sink and microwave. Front desk cheery and helpful. No store or amenities in the lobby, but free newspapers with breakfast, for those who still read the news. Oh...sensors in the bathrooms so when you enter at night in the dark, the light turns on automatically. Another nice touch. All told a clean, well run spot, nothing fancy, but better than the usual, with some surprises. We'll probably be back.

on a trip to napa, i found this hotel to be centrally located enough. it's right on the main highway to napa. the staff was great, the fitness center was also quite nice which is surprising to me. a lot of the hotels in this class usually have antiquated equipment stored in a closet and renamed a fitness room, but not here. i stayed an extra night instead of moving closer to san fran for the trip home the following day because of the fitness room. the young lady at the dest, coral was very attentive and pleasant to be around. it is about a 15 minute drive to the heart of napa and a little further to st helena. there is a mall housing a walmart almost in walking distance from the hotel.

My husband and I recently came back from a long weekend in Napa and are so glad we stayed at this hotel! After a few nights in San Francisco, I really appreciated how quiet this hotel was. The doors of the rooms gradually close so you don't hear the slamming that occurs in even the nicest hotels.

As others have mentioned, the location is terrific if you are hitting both Napa and Sonoma, which we were. The hotel is located close to a Starbucks and Wal-Mart in case you need your coffee or forget any essential items.

The free breakfast was another nice perk that helped us be able to put more money towards wine!

We have vacationed this year at Four Seasons and St. Regis properties, but I would not hesitate a bit to come back to this Fairfield Inn!
