The hosts were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and the linens were of high quality, We enjoyed sitting out in front of the room watching two men playing horseshoes as the sun went down. The setting just outside of town made for an authentic, high desert experience.The rooms up near the highway might experience some road noise. Our room was in the back and very quiet.

If you're on hwy 395 heading north, take the extra half mile out of town to find the Rim Rock! We like the rooms better in than another in-town motel we have stayed at in Alturas. But mainly we really appreciate the very helpful on-site owner who registered us, obviously proud of what he and his wife have done to make the place nice. Besides giving us info on food - Alturas doesn't have that much and we arrived rather late - he noted the Harvest Moon rising over the low mountains behind the motel and said the sunrise would make our surroundings (the plantings on the ground) really nice. We appreciate the personal touch. Hours after leaving the Rim Rock, my wife noticed she'd forgotten an item left behind. It only took a call to have them mail the item to our home.

A great value. Very clean and cute when you drive up. Good service at the front desk. The place is super well-kept. We had the "two room suite". It was not very large (we travel by motorcycle with a fair bit of gear), but did the job. Nice furniture for the price. We felt very safe. Though it's by the highway, we did not notice noise to be an issue. I'm not a long review writer, but agree with what everyone else is saying. If you are energetic you can walk into town for dinner (we did).

after driving about 2,270 miles, my sister and stayed one nite on our way home, it was a
perfect place to rest on the last leg of our trip ! Thank you again!
