“Just what we needed”

We arrived at this hotel at daybreak and was met by a young lady who was very friendly and wanted to help us in any way possible, and she did help us. The breakfast was good and consisted of sausage, eggs, biscuits, etc. The room was clean and comfortable. It was extremely quiet. The pool was nice and clean, and if I had more time I would have liked to jump in. Apparently a large amount of respectful men who work stay here. Their goal is to come in from work, go to sleep, and wake up the next morning and go back to work. The only negative aspect I was able to see at this hotel was the surrounding outside area. It could use some help. It is located right next to the interstate, but it is still very quiet. It is south of Fort Payne, and I certainly didn't mind the travel. It was worth it. I am planning to visit the area again, and I will not hesitate to stay here again.

“Recent renovations, clean rooms, nice place”

I don't stay in hotels much, so I can't really compare this place to other similar hotels. But I stay here twice a month when I'm in town for classes in Gadsden, and I've always found the rooms to be clean and the staff to be courteous and helpful. Rooms are $39 a night for University of Alabama students - a hard price to beat. I've always requested (and received) non-smoking rooms. There seem to have been some renevations recently and many of the rooms I've stayed in lately have seemed almost brand new. Though a King bed is usually available, I find those to be uncomfortable and usually opt for the two double beds. Recently this hotel became a Days Inn, but little has changed. The breakfast offerings are slightly different now - there are no longer hard-boiled eggs and a couple of other things they had before, but the breakfast rolls are improved. I'm probably getting into too much detail now, so I'll stop! :)

“Pretty dumpy place”

I stayed here for one night while driving through because they had a great rate of $39. If it weren't so cheap I would have been very unhappy. This is a motel, not a hotel. The room I was put in had a broken AC so I was moved to another. Both rooms were equally run down looking and dirty. In the corner behind a chair there were 6 beer bottle caps, so obviously the maids don't clean very well. If it weren't for the nice desk staff and lobby, I would have rated this place even lower. It is definitely not up to Holiday Inn standards.
