“Outstanding Service, Loud Rooms...”

This is my second time staying at the Washington Hilton. The customer service is top notch from the time you arrive to when you check out. My only complaint is the paper thin walls. I do not like being awoken in the morning by my neighbors alarm clock or hearing them on the phone. It is my only complaint as everything else at the hotel is top notch. I understand they recently did a makeover it looks great and the brand new coffee bar is outstanding. The coffee was great!!

“Great Location. Comfortable Stay.”

The Washington Hilton is close to mostly everything. Located in DuPont circle and surrounded by great little restaurants, although the hotel food is pretty amazing too! I walked to the capital, White House, MLK Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument, and Georgetown. It's conveniently located by a Riteaid, so picking up little things for the trip was easy. Hotel was very clean and beds were comfy. The room is a decent size. Room service is excellent! Housekeeping does not mess around. If you do not have your Do Not Disturb sign on your door, you will be getting knocks on the door by 8am from housekeeping. The hotel walls are a bit thin. If the hotel is slow, you'll sleep fine. If there are any major conventions....not so much. The room ac/heater is loud. I actually thought my neighbors ac/heater was mine, and could not figure out why my unit was running....until I realized I could hear the rooms unit next door through the walls.

“Nothing Special”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

Was given this property through one of the online blind booking services and after being told the property was pleased...Hiltons are nice. My overall opinion of the Hilton is busy, busy. busy. This location is set to pack the conventions in and the largerer the better. Checkin was slow and required a translator to understand the agent. In the service industry in th US one must be able to speak good english. During my stay there was seldom a place in the lobby talk with associates or to use the free wirelss to avoid the $13 charge. Overall this a a very pricey hotel. Food is ridiculous. Parking a gouge at $34/day. The rooms are very small with very little to prevent you hearing the person in the next room talking on the phone. Also, while there, very little was done to enforce the no smoking policy. The entire floor I was on smelled like a cigarette through my stay creating an unplesant atmosphere. For those paying full price for this property you may come up on the short end.

Thank you for taking the time to review the Washington Hilton. Our hotel can oftentimes be busy as you indicate though it certainly depends on timing as many days there is ample room to meet associates and utilize our complimentary lobby wifi. We strive to make every guest experience special and hope you will consider the Washington Hilton when returning to DC.

“Big Hotel - Small Rooms”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

This is a very large hotel designed for large confernces and events. The staff are courteous and efficient, some do not have english as their native language so at times communication can be difficult.

The rooms, even on the executive level are small (not unusual for Washington DC). While it is easy to cope with the small rooms, the walls are very thin (poor sound attenuation). I couls easily hear the conversation in the room next to mine. For some rooms the heating and coolingj unts come on with a buzzing noise, this too is not uncommon, however you also hear the units in other rooms coming on at it sounds identical to a cell phone on vibrate. Several times I got up in the night thinking I had a phone call only to realize it was the adjacnet rooms heating and cooling unit.

The breakfast is worth the money and is ecellent, lunch and dinner were unimpressive and very expensive. Stay here only if you have a conference or other business at the hotel.

Room Tip: If you stay on the executive level (the 10th Floor), try to get a room above 10140 (they have a much...

Thank you for taking the time to review the Washington Hilton. We certainly are a big hotel and strive to make you feel like an individual when staying with us for whatever purpose brings you to DC. As you mention city rooms sometimes are not as expansive as you might find in a less urban location, but we pride ourselves on having some of the most well acquainted rooms in DC. It is especially nice to hear how much you enjoyed our breakfast and found it to be a good value. We hope you will choose the Washington Hilton on your next trip to our nation’s capital.
