“The best hotel bed I have ever slept in!”

The remodeling of the Jefferson since I was first there has been beautifully done. The bathroom is beautiful and I love the television built into the mirror. The room decor is elegant and appropriate for such a venerable hotel. The quality of the service was superb, and the concierge Lynn very helpful to us. In my estimation the Jefferson belongs in the Relais et Chateau family.

“Excellent Experience”

I was initially atracted by the Jefferson's membership in Relais & Chateaux and I was delighted to see that it lives up to that standard. This was my second stay at the Jefferson on business, and I have already booked my next stay. Great features abound, including a well-appointed library accessible to only overnight hotel guests. Very classy..

“Fantastic Hotel”

This was a really wonderful hotel, very expensive but a real 5* experience. The sheets have a thread count so high it is like sleeping on a cloud!

Room Tip: We had a junior suite - it was perfect.

“OK unless you want to sleep”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 January 2012

The hotel was at least half empty when I stayed. I asked for a quiet room and was assured that they would take that into consideration. When I arrived, the receptionist also assured me that she was giving me a quiet room.

The hotel is located on 16th Street, one of the most major roads in DC. There is heavy and noisy traffic into the early hours. You can hear horns, motorcycles and heavy vehicles as they pass by. Yes, they have double-pane windows. It doesn't do any good, because the racket goes right through them.

Marble bathrooms, free internet, and high tech TVs aren't much use if you can't get a good night's sleep. I'm not a particularly light sleeper and this isn't a close call. It was really loud and kept me up.

Room Tip: Rooms facing 16th Street are incredibly noisy. I don't know about the other rooms. Heaven help...

We stayed at the Jefferson over Christmas and new year and had a fabulous stay. The hotel is totally elegant and the service is top notch, nothing was too much trouble.
