“Beautiful hotel, excellent service”

Just stayed here a week ago for a three-day work trip. We barely left the place because we attended a conference there.

Check-in and check-out were quick and efficient. The young woman who checked me in overheard me say to a colleague that I needed to print out a one-page document. She suggested I email it to her and she printed it right away. Simple gesture that made quite a positive impression.

The room was spotless. Bed very comfortable. Housekeeping did an excellent job. Bathroom had a gigantic sink and love that they had Aveda products.

Only had breakfast at the restaurant on the first floor. Again, excellent service.

One thing to note if you're going to an event there: the conference rooms were freezing. I had to put on a sweater under my business suit I was so cold. My room wasn't because I got to control the temperature, which I appreciated.

The hotel has a grand history and a fantastic location. There are tons of restaurants nearby. At least two Starbucks, if you'd rather take your coffee break there.

I would stay here again, no question.

“Fantastic!”

What a great hotel. From the beginning of our stay to when we checked out, the stay was perfect.

When I checked it, I was greeted promptly, and I was able to get my original room switched to a front facing room very quickly with no problems. The room was great, with a giant comfortable bed, great TV.

I was in DC for business so the proximity to the Metro (literally half a block away), made it easy to get anywhere.

A perfect hotel to stay in. Plus, making the reservation through Marriott.com with a AAA discount, I got my room for $99 per night, A STEAL!

I highly recommend this hotel for everyone who wants to come stay in DC

Room Tip: Any Room is wonderful, but the front facing ones are a bit smaller than the others.

“True Pleasure”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

This is a wonderful hotel. First if visiting the DC Capital area the Mayflower is easy to reach on the Metro or if by car not bad in DC. The hotel itself is history, relaxation and service in a very pleasing combination At checkin the agent was very helpful and had me checked in and on my way quickly. The room was on the small side although it was nicely furnished. Overall the hotel is a pleasure to view and location can't be beat. Just blocks away from the Mall and White House. Great restaurant choices very close.

Right around the corner from the Farragut North Metro stop, the ease of accessing transportation made this hotel skyrocket to the top of my list. Lovely building, great service, and a well appointed room. Many nearby restaurants as well.

“Nice, great location. A bit dowdy.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

Enjoyed a one night stay. Good staff. And, of course, the location is wonderful for dining choices. We thought the small suite we had was a little on the dowdy side. Poorly decorated to begin with (a corduroy sofa in a grande dame hotel?). A good spiffing up of the rooms is in order. But we would go back.
