“Great choice for visiting DC: location, comfort, value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

I recommend you put this hotel at the top of your list when considering a hotel to visit DC.

When I first learned that the hotel would charge me $25 per day to park my car, I started looking for alternatives to both hotel and parking. When I looked closer at the hotel price per night, the location, and other parking charges, I realized that the Washington Plaza Hotel, near 13th and Vermont in NW Washington DC was a great deal. The hotel is 4.5 blocks North of the White House and therefore walking distance to the Mall and only 1.5 miles from all the fun and restaurants of Georgetown.

The hotel itself is clean and well managed. Some of the carpets and decorations are this strange blend of new 80s hipster but it is all new and the place is just convenient and comfortable.

Parking is secure and convenient. I parked our car for the weekend even though the $25/day charge allows in and out privileges. With room rates under $90/night and a perfect location, this hotel is really a deal.

“Horrible Customer Service....BEWARE !!”

I made a reservation for 2 nights. My husand and I decided to cancel the first night. I cancelled the reservation 4 days prior. They NEVER cancelled my reservation and my card was charged anyhow. When I complained the women who was the supervisor was incredibly rude. And would not help!!!!! She also asked for another $ 60.00 for incidentals plus $25.00 for parking. This place is a ripe off!!! Not only do they charge you an arm and a leg they are rude too. So becareful giving them ur bank info. Cause they will take your money. And if you are out of the state like us that is a problem!

“Funky, hip hotel near many historic landmarks and 10 min train ride from DCA!”

Stayed for 1 night to visit a friend in the District. Hotel is in Downtown DC, which isn't too far from the White House and all other historic landmarks. Check in was quick and simple, front desk staff was courteous as well. Rooms had a great view of the area as well as the outdoor pool! The only issue I had was I called before I booked to request a late check out, and the agent advised that it would be ok, even verified again once I checked in upon arrival. Around 2pm, front desk advised that there was a half-day charge if I stayed until 3pm, but since I was advised several times that I could stay without any charges, manager waived the charge.

“Great Stay”

Stopped here on our way to North Carolina this summer. It was our first trip to DC so we wanted to see it all! This hotel was in a great location. It was a quick 5 minute drive to the monuments as well as Georgetown, which we had a lot of fun exploring! Rooms are very up to date and immaculate. We even had a great view! Loved this place. We are actually planning to stay here again for our anniversary!
