“A lovely weekend at Park Hyatt”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 May 2012 NEW

We stayed last weekend for two nights for my daughters graduation. Our favorite in DC have always been both DC Ritz Carlton Hotels. We decided to try Park Hyatt this time. My overall impression is very positive. I must mention few irksome points first. We arrived at hotel around 11 AM. Only one check in area was open and we were number three in line. Soon a young man arrived to check us in but no hello or any greeting or even eye contact. No one offered us help to bring our luggage nor directed us to where the elevator was. This was a disappointing experience after being spoiled by Ritz Carlton welcome.
Room was spacious and no complaints here except the bathroom seat in our suite's second bathroom was broken.
Highlight of the stay was restaurant. We had dinner and lunch. Both were fantastic.
I am sorry for not giving 5 stars, I wish our check in was smooth.

Room Tip: Do not miss eating at the restaurant. Check out where your room is, ours faced a windowless brick w...

“Fabulous”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 May 2012

Spent Thursday-Sunday. Little R&R weekend. Was able to stay with a three nights for two deal. Planned to spend some time "lounging in." Pleasantly surprised with an upgrade to a king deluxe suite. It was fabulous! Very large sitting area, separate bed area, and LARGE en suite. The hotel is well located. The entire place was quiet and subdued. The work out room and pool were on the small side, but nice enough. Would stay here every time if I could...

Room Tip: Ask for an upgrade. No doubt if they can they will.

“Now that's how a hotel should act”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 May 2012

Stayed there for a wedding weekend. Accommodations were very nice. Staff excellent and very friendly. We had a problem with the first room that we had ( only one upholstered chair for two guests), but when we asked that an other chair be brought to the room, we were asked if we wanted another room instead. We took the other room. Turned out it was a mini suite, at no additional cost. That's service..... All other aspects of our stay were great. Definitely recommend if you want to stay in the Georgetown area.

If a visitor, you are at least 4 blocks from the nearest metro station, so will need to take taxi's to get most places.

Room Tip: Want a room in the corners of the hotel. Quiet and larger.

“Business mixed with pleasure”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 May 2012 via mobile

We (my husband and I) stayed here in July 11 to attend the Fine Foods Exp. We had a standard room and it was perfect. The Dali Lama was also staying here so there lots of secret service around. We had dinner at the Blue Duck. It was one of the best meals we've ever tasted. The hotel is a nice walk in Georgetown and the tourist sites, White House etc. The hotel offered to drive us to the conference at the convention centre in their house car which was lovely. There was a lot of traffic so he went the back was and showed us a lot of sites, like where Bill Clinton used to go to church.

We are staying here in June, again for the conference. This time we've booked a Park Parlor Suite as we are also celebrating our 11th wedding anniversary whilst we are here. We can't wait. It's the perfect place to stay and mix business with lts of pleasure. I'm counting down the weeks.

“no real complaints but no wow factor”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 May 2012

Most of the basics are there, comfortable bed/bedding, good plumbing, acceptable service attitude, and rooms that have aged relatively well. The confirmed Gold Passport Diamond upgrade landed us a Park Executive Suite or at least that was what the front desk agent called it. The 1-BR suite was spacious and contained 1.5 baths, a long sofa, and a square living room table in lieu of a more traditional work desk (no work surface in the bedroom). We took advantage of the loaner bicycles at the concierge. For the cost conscious, the valet parking is $48 per night. Perhaps a way to describe the property location would be ‘near the center of everything, but close to nothing’, except for the independent cinemas on the back side of the hotel, but not a big deal if you are planning to drive everywhere as we were. While I would rate this property ahead of The Williard, in comparison to Park Hyatts in Asia, this location falls way short.
