“A little bit special”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

We stayed in this hotel for two nights in February while on a city break. The hotel is a bit quirky, historic, comfortable and very well equipped (good mini bar, actual glass glasses and ceramic mugs, massive bed). There was even a framed antique map showing the town I live in in Scotland. Staff were helpful (and provided take away menus so we could get food delivered when we arrived at midnight).
Good location - about a 15/20 minute walk from all the sights. Not very close to a metro - nearest 4 blocks - which is fine if your luggage isnt too heavy.
Good value because we booked through hotwire.co.uk - not sure what the price would have been otherwise.
We didn't make use of the breakfast service, bar or restuarant so can't comment on those.

Room Tip: we asked for an upgrade from queen to king and it was the same price

“Friendly and fantastic!”

Hotel was well located and reasonably priced. Room was massive and very clean. Staff were friendly and couldn't do enough to help including printing documents we required for a visit to Capital buildings. Internet access was poor however this had no impact on our stay.

Would recommend very highly.

Dear Valued Guest,

Thank you for your kind review. We are so glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay at the Historic Morrison-Clark Inn.

I do see that you had some issues with the internet connection while you were staying with us. We had a few days in early January where the internet was giving us some issues and when we contacted Verizon they said that it was an issue in our region. But I am happy to say that they have resolved the issue and that it is no longer a problem.
I hope you come back and visit us again in the near future.

Thank you,

“Hidden Treasure”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 January 2012

I enjoyed my stay at this historical hotel. The staff was helpful. This place is reasonable priced and came across more like a B & B than a hotel. I would stay there again

“A lovely hotel with character and charm.”

We stayed at the Morrison-Clark Historic Inn for 1 night in December. We booked directly through the hotel, recieving a good price (especially compared with the larger hotel chains in Washington). In addition to the price, the advantage of staying here is the friendly service and the fact it is a small, boutique hotel in a historic building. We stayed in a deluxe room, which was smallish, but tastefully decorated and had a comfortable bed. The hotel is walking distance to the White House, and possible to walk further to the monuments and mussums.
We ate dinner at the hotel restuarant, which serves high quality food and drink, in a charming room.Overall, the Morrison-Clark Historic Inn is a lovely hotel with character and charm.

Dear Valued Guest,

Thank you for choosing the Historic Morrison-Clark Inn during your stay in Washington DC. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed the charm and history of the property as well as the service.
Our deluxe rooms are very cozy and comfortable, but for guest that are planning on staying for a week or more we do recommend our Victorian rooms or Parlor Suites. The Victorian rooms are larger with higher ceilings and Victorian décor. The Parlor Suites have a separate living room area with a pull out sofa.

We hope that you come back and visit us again in the near future.

“Great Hotel, Great Staff, Great Price, Great time”

I was looking for a nice hotel in DC and came upon the Morrison Clark. I was a little concerned about staying in the city, but after calling and talking to Joe, he made me feel comfortable. We got a great deal for the room rate on travelocity. The hotel is lovely and much like a bed and breakfast. Joe really went out of his way to make sure that we were well taken care of and I could not be happier. I loved the fact that the hotel was filled with antiques and prints of historical events. The staff was so helpful in helping us find our way around the city. The room was great and bathroom very roomy. We also had a nice new tv and it was on the mini bar across from the bed. This was a wonderful experience and I would love to go back there again, especially if Joe is still there. I

Room Tip: You do have to pay extra for your car but the staff really goes out of there way to help you.
