“Great shopping & dining location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 January 2012

My husband I stayed here for 6 days for New Years and had a fantastic time. It's a small hotel just off of M Street with access to lots of boutique shops and restaurants. There is no breakfast offerred but there are plenty of cafes surrounding the hotel - including the Daily Grill - to chose from. Downside - there is no metro within walking distance and parking is expensive ($30 overnight)...street parking is not recommended due to strict time zones. Overall, this was a great stay, with great service and mostly, a fantastic location.

“Good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 January 2012

Location is good, rooms are okay in size, bathrooms small especially for family of 4, could do with some revamp too. Central grill on site a bit pricey for breakfast - try booeymonger on Prospect - great breakfast at third of the price!

“Unbelievably 'Faulty Towers'”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 December 2011

This hotel is situated in Georgetown, which is a big plus: the area is lovely, safe and full of nice bars and restaurants. Moreover, the hotel restaurant 'daily grill' has nice wine, friendly service and good food.
But....there the positive feedback stops: the rooms are crummy, tired and old. Bathrooms are below standard and electricity/wiring seems not up to safety standards. The rooms are very badly serviced and/or cleaned and cleaning personel is walking around with noisy walky-talkies, which -apart from their own screeming at 7 o'clock in the morning- are rather intrusive. The noise-reduction in the room is zero, so you virtually hear the neighbour's alarmclock (was that mine?????), or their discussion on the restaurant for that evening etc.
Reception is unhelpful and the business room overcharges for printouts and internet.....in short, good location, but otherwise, leave this hotel alone!!! (for the prices they charge there are much better options)

“Georgetown is great”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 November 2011

With a group of 15 we spent two nights in the Georgetown Inn. Reasonable service in the restaurant. Good service at the frontdesk and door. Good food but not cheap. The hotel is located in a very friendly neighborhood were you can walk and cycle around easily. The beds were clearn and the rooms were sizeable. Bathroom a bit too small though... I would stay there again.

“Great service and location, some minor flaws”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 November 2011

I stayed in this hotel for 5 days and paid around $250/night including taxes, through Expedia.

Pros: The location was very central and seemed safe--there were people walking around in the street until late at night. The hotel is about 5 minutes walk to M street (major Georgetown shopping and restaurant district) and right on Wisconsin Avenue, which also has many shops and restaurants. The University itself is at about a 10 - 15 minute walk. I found the service people at the front desk and in the lobby unflaggingly polite and attentive; they always went out of their way to help. My request for a quiet room was met (no noise at night despite the location on a trafficked street) and the room itself--a single with a king-sized bed--was tastefully decorated and comfortable.

The minuses: some minor maintainance issues that took away from the look of the hotel: some chipped and fading paint, an outlet cover that was askew, shower fixtures that didn´t quite work right. I also had no bathtub. Nevertheless, these were minor for me. The most inconvenient fact was that internet would have cost me a lot per day ($10.95!!!)--this should have been free for clients!! I did not pay the hotel's outrageous prices, but instead went up the street to the "Marvelous Market" (up Wisconsin a couple of blocks), where I had my breakfast (decent expresso) and connected to internet for free. Starbucks on M street also had free internet.I did have breakfast in the hotel one day, but close to $20 (including tip)seemed very expensive for a bagel with cream cheese and lox and a cappuccino! They were generous with the lox, but still....

So, because of the great service, comfortable room and location (especially for Georgetown-related business), I would give the hotel 4 stars, but do think a bit more should be provided for the price.
