Me and my boyfriend are travel lovers, but this was actually our first time ever staying at a B&B, and honestly we were pretty nervous about it at first. The reason why we picked a B&B was because we were traveling with my mom. If we stayed in a hotel, we were going to have to book two rooms which will double our entire trip cost, so for the first time ever, our B&B experience started with Intown Uptown Inn.
Firstly, the reservation over the phone was extremely friendly and helpful. On the day of our arrival, I also got a friendly phone call from one of their staffs and asked if our flight was good and what time they should be expecting us.
By the time we parked our car and walked into the house, we fell in LOVE immediately. Even it's been also three months since we stayed there, the picture is still so clear in my mind at this moment as I'm writing this late review. I was stunned by how elegant and vantage the living room was. We are crazy phone people and we spent at least two hours just to take pictures around the house. Each room has a unique style and if they are vacant, you may step in and satisfy your curiosity.
Emily and her husband were the staffs who lived in the basement of the house, and they were also the ones who took care of all the guests, including breakfast, giving directions, recommending restaurants, etc. They were super friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was amazing and you will get VERY GOOD breakfast there =)
If you were going to visit the museums, monuments and all the must-see stuff in D.C., it's a very convenient location since the "straight shot" bus-stop is right across from the house.
Lastly, the neighborhood was very quiet and you will get very decent sleep. For us the first timers of B&B, we finally understood the B&B concept of "a home away from home".
