“What more could I ask for?!?!?!”

My boyfriend and I stayed at Hotel Monaco to celebrate his 36th birthday, and we both loved it!
We are from Maryland but we wanted to stay in DC after a wizards game and I chose this hotel initially because of its unbeatable location; it's directly across the street from the Verizon Center.
Upon arrival, the impeccable customer service started at the font door with the very kind valet people. Everyone was smiling an very very helpful. We walked into the hotel and could feel the warmth of welcoming spirits and even more smiling faces. We checked in and as soon as I gave my name the front desk personnel gave my boyfriend a very enthusiastic happy birthday greeting. He was surprised and felt special:) ( I'm sure that they paid attention to the notes I made when I made the reservation). We had also been informed that we got a free upgrade to the Monte Carlo Guest Room. We were also given fantastic suggestions on where to grab a late dinner after the game.
When we entered the room there were complimentary snacks, a nice personalized greeting card and a bottle of champagne waiting for us to start our celebration. The room was gorgeous the high ceilings wall to floor windows and comfortable bedding was great! The bathroom in this particular room type is pretty small but we didn't care about that.
The hotel is beautiful with it's winding staircases and classic tall ceilings; it actually looks a bit regal. I could not stop staring down the long hallway it was mesmerizing.
We only stayed one night but I could go on and on about the cleanliness and the quietness of this hotel- I was so surprised especially by the quietness because it was right in the middle of everything and the hotel was completely booked that night; all of that paired with the amazing customer service is what makes us eager to come back.
If you want a chic hotel with a classic feel this is the place you have to be.

“Perfect location, very comfortable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

I think the ceilings in my room were at least 15' high! Room super comfortable, staff helpful, location couldn't have been better. The number of different patterns in the room decor were a bit dizzying, but other than that quite a lovely hotel and a really good value for the price.

Room Tip: I think the third floor rooms have the highest ceilings.

“Hotel Monaco, Washington D.C.”

Loved the hotel, which was built in 1834 as the first post office in D.C. . Within walking distance to all the Smithsonians, Whitehouse etc. Across the street from the metro.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the 3 floor facing the street. Great views and large windows with 20 foot ceilings...

“A bit of old world Washington”

I was pleasantly surprised by the Hotel Monaco in Washington. The interior is smartly decorated in modern art and sculpture. However, what really catches your eye are the soaring ceilings. It has the feeling of being in a Senate building while giving you a perfect respite from the bustle just 3 blocks below.

The gym is surprisingly well stocked as well.

thousandislands2,

We couldn't agree more and I am just happy to be able to walk these historic halls which once housed the first General Post Office where the decision was made to begin home mail delivery service through the use of the Pony Express!

Thank you for your wonderful feedback and I am elated that your experience was a memorable one! We will see you next time and if you should ever need any help with a future booking I am happy to assist!

Historically Yours,

Chris

“Great night in DC!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

We had stayed at the Hotel Monaco about a year ago for a wedding and LOVED the hotel, location, staff, etc. We decided to return last weekend as a "mini-getaway" for our anniversary. Again, we were incredibly pleased with the staff, our room, the service, and the restaurant. Reggie, at the bar at Poste was great to chat with and made some fantastic cocktails (try the basil lemontini)! The rooms feel immense with very high ceilings and great decor! The staff was extremely helpful and made our stay fantastic. I highly recommend this hotel!
