“Perfect Home Base!”

We so enjoyed our stay at the Residence Inn/Dupont Circle. The self-parking garage felt very secure, clean and well lit. Front desk staff were very hospitable getting us all the information that we needed for touring also. The Metro is a block and 1/2 easy walk, restaurants everywhere, grocery store next block, CVS 1 block. We toured on foot the many World Embassies in the area, the Woodrow Wilson house Museum and the Society of the Cincinnati which is the nation's oldest patriotic organization. In addition to free breakfast, they offer a free themed dinner M-W of the week. We would stay here again.

“Great Location, Home Away from Home”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

This is a great location if you want to explore DC. Especially if you feel comfortable with a SUBWAY (Metro) system. We flew directly into Washington National (Reagan) Airport, we purchased a 7 day subway pass ($30), and NEVER took a single cab ride. The Metro runs right from the airport and with one train change right to the hotel. The Residence Inn was about 4-5 blocks from the DuPont Circle subway. We went with another couple and two children (11 and 13). We had two bedrooms and two bathrooms and the kids stayed in the living room area on the pull-out sofa. It was perfect and very comfortable. I would have given it a 5 star review except for the fact that it is not a 5 star hotel. The place was clean and very comfortable, but more like a home instead of a luxury hotel. The decor was a little dated, so if you are into the "finer things" about a hotel, you could do better if money is no concern. But we didn't travel to DC to check out the hotel because we wanted to see as many monuments and museums as we could. It was perfect for us. Safe and convenient. This place would be great for two couples and great for a family with children of any age.

Room Tip: 1st time here and we had no problems with our room

Dear Mr. Fox,

Thank you for choosing the Residence Inn Dupont Circle for your stay and for taking the time to share your positive experience on Trip Advisor. We are glad you enjoyed our location in the comfort of one of our two bedroom/two bathroom suites, which comfortably accommodate up to 6 people. Taking advantage of the metro pass is a great recommendation for travelers as it's economical and saves time as well. Regarding our decor, we are pleased to report that our hotel is due for our 5 year mandatory Marriott renovation at the end of this year. Our suites and public space will be completely remodeled with more contemporary colors and design. Our staff does a great job keeping our facilities extremely clean and in working order for our guests.
The Residence Inn Brand caters to travelers looking for a "home away from home" and you are correct when you described the overall atmosphere of the hotel. The free breakfast, light dinner Mon-Wed and free internet are just some of the amenities the brand offers to connect you with home.
Please keep us in mind if you return to our Nation's Capital. We look forward to having you and your family with us again.

“Very good property and neighborhood”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 January 2012

I have stayed at Residence Inn Dupont Circle (Washington DC) several times in the past, but this was my first recent stay.

I was pleasantly surprised that several on the staff remembered me and welcomed me back.

1. Parking Garage. I like the self-park at this property. Sometimes I am relieved to be at a hotel where valet staff make over me and help me in and out, but that comes with a steep price in tips and, at least in DC, very high overnight rates. This hotel is "do-it-yourself." 5-star for self-parking!

2. Location is always an operative word with hotels and this one fits the category of excellent location. Several very good restaurants are just a few steps away. Pesce, Al Tiramisu, and Urbana, just to name three. Starbucks is just across the street, and Soho Tea & Coffee is just down the street. It's a short walk to Connecticut Avenue with lots of other restaurants and shopping. CVS is convenient just up P Street on Dupont Circle. (By the way, President Obama had a lunch meeting at Scion Restaurant, in the same block, on the day I arrived. You can Google news reports for Friday, January 6, and perhaps see a photo.)

3. Rooms are typical for Residence Inns. Perhaps you are familiar with the brand.

4. Breakfast is included and again is the same menu and quality as other properties in this brand.

This is a well-run, very likeable hotel. If you're not familiar with Residence Inns, you should be aware that it is "no frills" place in the sense that people are not hovering over you, waiting to serve you in exchange for tips. You're on your own, but with this great staff, I like it that way.

Room Tip: I like looking over P Street, but be aware you might get more noise, particularly in warm weather wh...

Dear Mr. West,

Thank you for choosing the Residence Inn for your recent stay and for sharing your experience on Trip Advisor. The Residence Inn Brand works very hard to provide our guests with "memorable moments" and recognizing repeat customers is of the ways we can thank you for your business and make you feel appreciated as a guest. I am pleased to know our staff remembered you.
The Dupont Circle location is convenient for both business and pleasure. The proximity to the Dupont Circle metro and to a variety of restaurants (you certainly listed some of the best in our area) is a great asset to our neigborhood. We are glad you appreciated our daily complimentary breakfast buffet and the self parking garage.
Please keep us in mind if your future travels bring you to Washington, DC. It will be our pleasure to serve you in the future.

“Couldn't have stayed there without the helpful managers”

I have very specific needs when I stay at a hotel which I am not at liberty to discuss, however all I can say is that Manny, the Reservations Manager, worked with his GM to accommodate EVERYTHING that I needed. I couldn't have stayed at the hotel without them and I will try to stay there every time I am in DC. This all goes without saying that the location is perfect. Thank you to Manny and the GM. My 10 day stay was brilliant.

“Excellent for a long stay”

I stayed at this Residence Inn for two months, and enjoyed everything about the hotel. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Breakfasts are excellent, with a good selection of hot and cold items. They also serve a complimentary light dinner three nights per week. My one bedroom apartment had plenty of room. I do wish that the kitchen had a real oven, not just a microwave oven. I believe that the two-bedroom units do have regular ovens. The location is excellent, just off Dupont Circle.

Room Tip: Rooms on upper flows have some view. I could see the Washington monument.

Dear Mr. Orelse,

Thank you for your recent review on Trip Advisor. We are glad to hear that you have enjoyed your two month stay with us. As you mentioned, our complimentary daily breakfast buffet is a great convenience . The Residence Inn brand has what's called a "rotational menu" so we don't repeat the same menu every day since most of our guests stay for 5 nights or longer. We are happy to hear that our staff was helpful and professional. We often get comments on how warm and friendly our staff is, but most importantly our goal is to ensure our guests have a comfortable and productive stay. Please keep is in mind for any future needs in Washington, DC. Our staff will most likely recognize you since you were with us for 60 nights.
