“Great hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

The staff is very professional. They act as receptionist and concierge. They recommended an excellent Italian restaurant. Great value, they matched Expedia's rate without a blink of rthe extra night. The rooms are clean and frankly for a 100 bakaroos it is a great hotel. Expensive parking but you are at walking distance from Obama whether to smack him or kiss him whatever your political views. Walk every where as parking is outrageous in DC. Just like NYC.

“Don't use the "preferred guest" floor”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

The highest floor in this hotel is the 9th floor, reserved for their "preferred guests". That floor is directly under the roof and it seems the entire floor vibrates to the tunes of the air handling system that must be mounted on top of that floor. I stayed in this property in FEB 2012 - I cannot tell if they had a mechanical failure or if this is the normal state of affairs, but one thing is sure: The entire floor is far too noisy. I asked to change rooms but none of the two rooms I inspected was really quiet. One room was simply noisier than the other.
Overall, the rooms are very small, somewhat run-down and with an absolutely unattractive and dull "decor". I cannot say anything particularly positive about this hotel.
In summary, I put a noise protector into my ears and made it through the night. I will definitely not come back to this property again.

Room Tip: I would advise against use of the 9th floor. There is a constant and very noticeable background sou...

I am sorry you were disappointed with your visit. While our rooms are small as we freely admit they have been refreshed and made comfortable with a neutral decor - I am sorry it was not to your liking. I see the comments regarding noise on the 9th floor in several rooms. While you are not clear about the type of noise, we are currently renovating our indoor pool, located on the floor above which involves removing the existing pool surface. I believe the construction noise for this work may be the source of your complaint as we have not had other comments about on going noise on this floor. This pool project is scheduled to be complete around Feb 20 and the noisy parts completed by Feb 12 so it should not be a source of any further problem and we will be introducing our new pool area at that time.

“Weekend Stay”

While we only stayed for 2 nights, we had great service and a clean room. While we didn't have a great view since we had an interior room, it was completely quiet without any street noises getting through and that was more important to us.

“Great place to stay in DC”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

people found this review helpful

This was my first time staying at the Four Points and I would definitely recommend it. I was most impressed by how quiet it was for being in D.C. I'm a fairly light sleeper, so Im used to being woken up by traffic when I travel to bigger cities - and I've had bad experiences with that in DC at other hotels, but this was perfect.
The staff was incredibly friendly and the room itself was very comfortable.
Next time I come back to DC, I'm definitely staying here again, and I've been recommending it to my friends.
I didn't get a chance to use the spa, so I couldn't rate that (maybe next time), but otherwise, a great place to stay.

Room Tip: I had a room 335 on the inside and it made for a very quiet and comfortable stay.

“Consistent Service and Staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

I stay at this hotel a lot for business. They have really good rates and the staff here know me by my name. It's nice to walk in and get a smile and they already have my keys ready for my room. I read some of the previous reviews and I think people dont know how good and consistent this hotel is for downtown DC. Remember folks, hotel rooms in this city aren't fancy. You are supposed to be out at all the monuments and attractions. The revamped Internet works fine so for those that complained last month, I don't know what you were complaining about. There was a problem with it about a year ago when this hotel was owned by a different management company. They treat me well for an SPG Platnium with free breakfast and a ticket for a free drink at the bar. The restaurant isn't bad...it's not as good as when Corduroy was there but at least it has a restaurant. Brasserie Beck is right next door and DC Coast is a 3 block walk along with other restaurants. Yes, many places like subway are closed but remember, this area is like how Wall Street is in NYC-past 5pm there isnt a soul to be found. If you can walk, there are a lot of good places to eat or just jump in a cab or take the Metro. The bell staff are extremely helpful, especially Ronnie. He always looks out for the guests. For the rates, it's one of the more reasonably priced, solid hotels in DC and I will continue to visit this property.

Thank you for your very kind comments and the detailed responses. I appreciate your business and support. I am also happy to advise that the hotel is expanding our Internet pipeline once more in February to continue to help our guests meet the technology opportunitites for the future. I am so happy that Ronnie has provided a personal welcome and excellent service to you in the past. Ronnie is one of our most valued team members and his presence at the front door has provided many guests with their first welcome and last goodbye. I will share your coments with him and I know he joins me along with our other team members in thanking you for your visit. We look forward to the opportunity to welcome you back again in the near future.
