“A great, consistent hotel”

We always stay at the Doubletree suites when in Washington DC. We stayed there on Dec 30, 2011 and the rate was only $116 per night. That's great for Washington DC. So close to the Foggy Bottom Metro. This is not a high-end hotel, but it is always consistent. For the price you pay in a city, it is well worth it. We usually opt out of the continental breakfast as there are so many great breakfast establishments close by - including in Georgetown. The kitchen is great, especially when traveling with kids. Would highly recommend this hotel if traveling to Washington DC.

“Huge Rooms - Great Price”

Stayed here one night and amazed by the huge rooms including kitchen with full size fridge. Clean rooms, very comfortable bed and good layout. TV was flat screen. True the hotel is older but the room was excellent. Would definitely stay there again. Crabtree & Evelyn products in the bathroom. Warm cookie doesn't hurt either.

“Great Foggy Bottom Hotel”

I usually stay at the State Plaza, Lombardy or Latham hotels, but, this was the first time for me to stay here on business and it was a great experience. All rooms are suite rooms with separate sleeping area. You can easily walk to GW or to Georgetown from here. You have easy access to the Foggy Bottom Metro. I would rate this equal to the State Plaza hotel, but, I still prefer the charm of the Lombardy with its maual elevator.

“It is well-located, friendly staff, but the room was really cold”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2012

The hotel is only three minutes walk from the Foggy Bottom metro stop. The lobby is very small, and there was a nice reception from the front desk. The elevator was slow, and the room was a small suite with three little rooms and lots of tight corners. Free warm cookie, bowl of apples at the front desk, free internet as an Honors member... It was spacious compared to most DC hotel rooms, of course, but for a Doubletree Suites it was oddly configured. It had everything you need; 2 TVs, fridge, lightly-equipped kitchen, living room, BR, very small bathroom. The most outstanding feature was how cold it was, though. It was really cold outside, and the room had no heat on when I went in. It never warmed up. The floors and furniture were freezing and stayed that way most of the night. It was as if it had not had heat on for days and had not been rented out... all adding up to getting colder and not heating up well at all. By the time I realized it was not getting warmer it was too late and I just went to bed to keep my feet off the cold floor. I guess this is a situation/weather-dependent issue, but it has really colored my stay. Ask for a pre-heated room!

“Great price great hotel”

Close to georgetown. The only negative is the parking. You are forced to pay $30 for valet. Also they have limited tv channels. Bring something to do if you plan on staying in hotel for awhile. And don't forget anything in your car. Valet is not on site. We had express check in. hot cookies. Clean rooms. Full kitchen. Crabtree evelyn toiletries. 24Hr fitness center and business center. Will stay here again for $120 in dc.
