This place is the worst place i have ever stayed at! No airconditioning, No microwave, the owners ringing up wanting to know when you are going to pay even tho you havnt even gotton the key yet!! The cottage is dark and very un inviting...We sat down to eat some take away, and within 10min or so two LARGE cockroches scuttled out across the floor! we were not aware this place didnt have any airconditioning, because if you read the website it simply states that all rooms are equipped with airconditoning!!! {its the middle of summer} This place is a disgrace!!!! A waste of $230!

We were wary of the reviews made about this place but booked anyway (you can't always believe what you read)
We found it to be exactly as expected, old terrace home modernised to a comfortable standard with everything working as advertised.It was clean and presentable and we had a delightful chat with the owner who recommended a wonderful place for breakfast.
Sadly when someone makes negative comments on this site there appears to be no checking to see if they are being done maliciously.
So I hope anyone looking here will take this as the truth, this is a lovely place to stay it does not have bedbugs,it is not dirty and owner is happy to talk to you.

I was absolutely appalled by this place,
1. Did not ever meet the owners, even though she said that she would come and introduce herself, everything was done over the phone,
2. the first morning she rang up and wanted my credit card details, did not even ask how our stay was
3. There are signs on every door stating that you should lock up before you retire at night or go out, because of break ins
4. the TV did not work
5. Cockroaches everywhere
6. I got eaten alive by bed bugs, unsanitary sheets
7. I was charged for 5 nights even though i only stayed for 4, the manager coincidently did not recall a phone call i had with her to cancel one nights accommodation
8. When i confronted the manager she accused me of being a liar and hung up on our phone call, then wrote an email to me accusing me of being aggressive toward her on the phone
9. When i tried to phone her in regard to this issue again she did not answer the phone
10. There are signs up warning you of what you will be charged for if you do not oblige by their requests

I wanted to stay somewhere different on our first trip to Perth so we chose to stay in the Prison Cottages as we thought that they looked nice and are historical. The cottages are decorated in an old style and are quite small. The location is fantastic, but the cottages themselves are not luxuriously appointed as we expected from the website. They were quaint but they felt old and uncomfortable. I have stayed in old style accommodation before and this doesn't have the luxurious feel about it.

The cottages are right outside the Fremantle Gaol overlooking Fremantle on a hill. The gaol is terrific and if you are staying in Fremantle it is worth going to see it. Fremantle itself is very nice. The markets are great and there are a lot of nice cafes and places to eat around there.

The location is fantastic, but the cottages themselves are not luxuriously appointed as we expected from the website. They were quaint but they felt old and uncomfortable.

Upon arrival we did receive a basket of goodies which was nice.
