Very nice rooms. Very clean. Comfortable. Everything worked. Only minor issue is the location, which is maybe 10 minutes from the cafe strip - but it's an easy walk.... Good value in Perth metro area

This was like stepping back in time. Better still the owner, like myself was a kiwi so instantly, there was some kind of connection when we met. I had booked on the day as we had just returned from the states and I think we were lucky enough to get best accommodation in the terraces with seperate bathroom, kitchen, lounge/dining and separate bedroom. Absolutely loved the era of the property and almost made me want to rush out and buy myself something just like it. Although this was my second time out there, Fremantle itself is so worth the trip anyway. I could have done with at least another 5 days just to check it all out properly.

After reading some of the negative reviews after booking this cottage for a weekend stay I must say I was a little concerned about the standard I was about to experience. BUT I had nothing to worry about. The cottage we stayed in was so lovely, clean and had a really nice "homely" feel about it. I stayed there with my two best friends on our annual weekend girlie getaway and they too were very happy with the accommodation. The location is ideal (we were able to walk everywhere in Freo). The cleanliness and facilities in the cottage were great and the manager "Carol" was so accommodating and friendly - nothing was too much trouble. Over the years we have stayed in lots of different styles of places for our getaway but we all agree that this place would have to be ranked up there as one of our favourites. Highly recommended... All in all, a lovely stay. After booking our one-night stay, I was dismayed to read the reviews of the Colonial Accomodation and was very worried. However, when we arrived, the building was lovely, our 2 brm apartment was spacious, clean and charming in a simple, old-fashioned style. No sign of bedbugs or cockroaches, and we did have aircon. Check-in and check-out was easy, and the owners were very friendly and helpful in our brief interactions with them.

The positives:
Lovely colonial building, charming rooms
Very handy central location, with bus-stop at door
Owners were helpful and contacted us when we left something behind in the room
Good value for money compared to the major hotel in Freo
Completely smooth, problem free check in, check out and payment

The negatives:
One of the 2 beds was a little saggy and creaky
The location was also slightly noisy (downside of being central)
The info sheet in the room stated that having the room cleaned more than once a week would cost extra. Not a problem for us given the short stay, but would have liked to see cleaning products in the room if guests are expected to clean it themselves on longer stays.

We were very pleased with our stay and will stay there again.
