Great little hostel.

Our room was compact to say the least but it was very cheap with a tv and fan.

The staff are great. Very helpful and jobs are arranged for those who want them every morning. Free bikes and internet is a bonus too and the hostel is quite central.

Good outdoor common area where there's always a bit of fun to be had.

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOSTEL!!!!!!! me and my boyfriend stayed here, and we were put into seperate dorm rooms, his was not so bad, mine was the girls only 8 bed dorm and was an absolute joke, i walked in to find that i could not see the floor for the long term resident's cloths and crap.

The dorms are "cleaned"( ha ha), but they are done with minimal effort ,2 mintue's and its done,but still there is dirt, dust and mud everywhere, and balls of dust and hair/fluff in the girls rooms,and they didn't even make them pick up there clothes etc, its just a joke!, the shower floors were always black and never cleaned, this has to be one of the dirtiest and out right disgusting hostel's i have had the misfortune of staying in plus the best bit......the hostel is riddled with BED BUGS,luckyily we managed to avoid them but two rooms were fumigated for having them, god knows how many more did, just do not stay here!!!

I would like to point out that the staff were very friendly and helpful.

the free internet access is available on a selection of thrashed PCs all with blurry screens, ideal for damaging eyesight. The letters on the keyboard have worn away, making it impossible for a non-touchtyper to write anything. The seated area was full of bleary Cheech and Chong characters (although their eyesight was not the result of the computers, if you catch my drift)... all repetitively asking each other if the film they were watching was shown the night before. One friend of society asked where he was!

The rooms are clean but not designed for sleeping. A constant drone of Blur's song 2 and Smashing Pumpkins 1979 crash through the walls of your room til 5 in the morning, making sure you'll get no rest. When I woke after 2 hours sleep someone asked me where I was going, I said 'to look for a job' and he replied 'waheey!' before tripping up the step that leads to reception.

If you want to party all night come here, if you want to sleep off jet lag go anywhere else.

I found most people here to be very friendly and welcoming. As the other reviewer said, it was good value, perfect for a younger crew, lots of people stay to work and live for 3 months, so it becomes like a big family. Probably not good if you're looking for somewhere quiet to relax. I was there over Christmas and hung out in the spa a lot- some very nice boys there! Staff were good fun, and organised parties and trips and bbq's, and a trip to Rottnest Island on Xmas Day which was beautiful!. I would stay here again for sure!
