We came from Oslo to take a weekend in charming Arvika, and chose this hotel due to its excellent location in the middle of the town, and its spa facilities.
We had received a really good deal, so we had no complaint not being given the best room of the hotel. Our room was small with a outdated bathroom, but I guess we got what we paid for.
The staff was really friendly, both in the reception, in the restaurant and in the spa, and made us feel welcome. We had both dinner and breakfast in the hotel, and we enjoyed both meals.
We were surprised to find that the reception closed at 14.00 on Sundays. This meant that there was no place to keep our luggage while we spent our afternoon in and around Arvika, so we ended up carrying it with us all day. We are sure that we are not the first ones finding this really inconvenient, and were surprised to find that the hotel had no solution to this.
The sauna apart, one of us enjoyed her spa afternoon. I realised a bit too late that the sauna lacks any working ventilation. Getting a headache in the sauna is just unpleasant, but this can actually involve a health hazard. For a spa hotel, this is really not impressive.
Nevertheless, we enjoyed our stay.
