“Really enjoyed our stay, would use this hotel again!”

We'd read earlier mixed reviews of the hotel and were a bit worried about what we might find! We were pleasantly surprised. Yes, the decor is a little outdated and the service on reception could be speedier.....however...
our room was large and clean, the shower one of the best we've ever had in a hotel, and the fridge worked! Towels were changed every day. The beds were on the hard side.
The breakfasts were good (we were on a bed and breakfast deal) and were enough to satisfy the English 'egg and bacon' requirement, plus we ate dinner in the hotel four times over the two week stay. The hotel was charging 14 euros for a three course evening meal, inclusive of a bottle of wine - very good value - each evening there was a choice of fish or meat for the main course, and the food was varied and tasty.
Eurotel provide a regular bus shuttle to Tavira centre and to the local shopping mall.
All in all, for a budget hotel, we were impressed - and would stay there again.

Room Tip: High floor, sea view.

“Not the most modern, but highly enjoyable”

This is not by any means a bad hotel, if you get it for a good price. We were delighted with the special handicapped room which was very spacious and had a fantastic bathroom with large shower and high toilet. This made my mother's life a lot easier! The room itself, the whole decor was a little bit outdated, but it was clean and very practical. Never had a hotel room with more cabinet space, and a fridge too. Beds were fairly narrow, and quite firm, but we were too tired to notice much anyway...
The whole hotel is clean and well maintained, with a lovely garden and a pool outside, but it feels like a timewarp to 1983 sometimes...Which in a way, was charming and cozy.
Staff downstairs were excellent, breakfast was decent.
The only real problem was with the restaurant the day we arrived. It turns out the restaurant is geared towards the groups that come there by the coach full; there is a single set menu available, and nothing else. And we would have been dining there as the only people not part of a group. This did not appeal to us, and we went elsewhere. I'm not sure if this is always the case however.

“Strange but true”

Its the first time we have been to Portugal, Tavira. It won,t be the last, but the last time we choose this hotel. Its a few miles out of town (no problem, it said so in the brouchure). The hotel it self looks fine from the outside, and on the whole is OK, BUT. The check in staff seemed to have a charisma by-pass as they gave me the keys to my apartment. The room was "spacious" with a decent view of the far off sea, but seemed to be decorated in 1970s. Wood panelling every where! The bathroom was fine (no wood there). The strangest thing about the place was the fridge (circa 1970). Of course it was stocked with drinks (at sky high prices, but heh aren't they all). Now the notice in the room said "You may not put any of your stuff in here because if you do we will turn the fridge off"
Is it me or is this common in hotels abroad?
What kind of attitude is this towards a paying customer.
Some of their bottles looked like they had been in there quite some time. Because of the time of the year that we went, the hotel was quiet and I guess the staff still needed to warm up their smiles. I would descibe the hotel as "pleasant"
The whole area around Tavira is beautiful, but development is rampant.
There was a good choice on the breakfast buffet.
