“Step inside and feel at home”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 September 2010

When you enter into the reception and meet the hostess, you really get a comfortable feeling. The check-in procedures is quick and you get the key to your room and a description of the faciliteies and the opening hours of the breakfastroom without any delay. You also get your reserved numbered parkingplace for your car on the back of the hotel (50 DKr for 24 hours). The hotel is very well located with shopping areas, restaurants and Skagen Museum within walking distance. We enjoyed our stay and we would like to come back soon.

“Nice hotel with very good location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 July 2010

The best about Hotel Petit is the very good location where practivallly all of Skagen is within walking distance. Rooms are OK but no good views (unless one fínds a parking lot a good view), beds are fine. There is no restaurant nor bar at the hotel. Breakfast is OK. Staff is very friendly.

“Nice hotel, good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 April 2010

We spent Easter 2010 in Hotel Petit and it was a really positive experience. The hotel is just a few steps from the pedestrian street and my favorite shop and has the perfect location if you like to stay in the centre. The price was also very reasonable.

We asked for a room facing the backyard and found it quiet enough. But at certain times the smell of fish could get rather strong with an open window at night. I guess this is a general Skagen problem as it is quite close to the harbour. The room was small but comfortable, I've stayed in smaller rooms. The bathroom was nice and seemed newly renovated. You could get hairdryer, shaving stuff, toothbrush, etc. upon request. The beds were really comfortable and it was free WiFi in all rooms.

There was no room service, but a machine with free tea and coffee and another with soft drinks in the corridor. There was also a bookshelf with books for loan.

The breakfast was really great and plentiful. Cheese, meat, three sorts of jam, boiled eggs, tomatos, cucumber, cereals, yoghurt, rolls, two kinds of bread (really good), croissants, apple and orange juice, tea, chocolate, coffee, muffins and a big plate with fresh fruit in slices. A great Scandinavian breakfast!

We were provided with a Skagen map and information upon arrival and the owner was available for questions. Behind the hotel there is a private parking with approx. 15 spaces. During Easter the parking was free, but in the high season it's not and parking can be a problem in Skagen.

We had a really pleasant stay and left Skagen with good memories. Petit Skagen would definitely be our first choice on our next trip.

“Family run hotel with the right blend of "home from home" cosiness and professional service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 October 2009

With five days to spend with the family (my husband and two children age 2 and 4) we decided to visit Skagen, taking the ferry from Gothenburg. After reading some reviews, I checked the hotel home page (www.hotelpetit.dk) and I booked online, avoiding the booking agents' fees. I am happy about my choice: the hotel is exactly as described.
The hotel's location is convenient, very close to the station and to the shopping area. The check in was already a pleasant experience: we got a lot of information about the area; they helped us planning our itineraries by bike, and we were able to buy tickets for the museums at discounted prices.
Our room was bright, clean, big enough for the four of us and looked newly refurbished in a simple, nice Scandinavian style. The only inconvenience was that it wasn't completely soundproof, now and then we could hear the tv sound from next door.
Next to the room there was a small bookshelf where we could borrow books (even children books!). No minibar in the room, but there was a vending machine in the corridor and coffee and tea free of charge. Big plus for the fast wireless internet connection and for the Swedish children tv channel, very much appreciated by the parents...
The breakfast buffet offered a good variety of food with some highlights: soft-boiled eggs that were really soft boiled, a big tray with fresh fruit cut in pieces, several types of cheese and bread (including croissants). My kids loved the muffins and I loved the Nutella.
In short, a good experience: the hotel is run by professionals but keeps the charme and cosiness of a family run business.
We spent three nights in Skagen and we really enjoyed our holiday. We will probably come back!

“Arrogant”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 July 2009

Planning to stay 2 children and one adult in the internet-booked double room( usually not a problem in most hotels) I was upon arrival informed that this was absolutely impossible and even illegal( probably the room size) but: The receptionists behavior was un-friendly and arrogant. We ended up paying 1250dkr for the room, and had to spend the night in another hotel.
