We spent three nights in Skagen in the off-season and chose Petit because they were one of the few hotels which were actually opened, plus they offered breakfast & free wi-fi. Hotel Petit is conveniently located in the very center of Skagen, a pedestrian zone with restaurants and a supermarket is right at the back door, literally, the harbor is a 5 minute walk.
The room and bathroom we had were really tiny and kind of had the flair of a hostel rather than a hotel, an impression underlined by a metal door between 'hallway' (less than 1 sqm) and bedroom. The door was open into the bedroom and could not be closed because there was not enough space left.
The room has a mini bar and a small TV if you need one, but is definitely too small to sit down and spend leisure time, or work at the desk, so you'll have to either use the bed or go downstairs and use the (again, tiny) salon near the reception, which features a fake fireplace. Although the rooms are not facing the street and are quiet, there was a gap under the door to the corridor, letting in a lot of light and sounds from the outside, which I didn't like, especially with other guests arriving or leaving at night,
The service (provided by a husband and wife team, the owners) was friendly, we felt quite welcome. A nice add-on was having free parking because of the off-season.
The breakfast is pretty good with a decent buffet-style choice of foods. On the floor to the rooms you can have free coffee and tea from a vending machine at all times.
Overall, this was a pleasant stay, and, considering Danish hotel prices, at a reasonable price, too. Because of the very small and narrow room it didn't feel special or comfy, though, and I definitely wouldn't use this for a romantic getaway.
