“Nice breakfast”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 May 2011

We only stayed one night in Skagen and this hotel was the perfect location. The room was a little small for 3 people, but it was very clean. I had trouble connecting with the Wi-Fi in the room. The hotel staff/owner was very nice and their breakfast was excellent. I want to go back to Skagen one day and I will definitely stay at Hotel Petit again!

“Petit being the operative word”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 April 2011

We spent three nights in Skagen in the off-season and chose Petit because they were one of the few hotels which were actually opened, plus they offered breakfast & free wi-fi. Hotel Petit is conveniently located in the very center of Skagen, a pedestrian zone with restaurants and a supermarket is right at the back door, literally, the harbor is a 5 minute walk.

The room and bathroom we had were really tiny and kind of had the flair of a hostel rather than a hotel, an impression underlined by a metal door between 'hallway' (less than 1 sqm) and bedroom. The door was open into the bedroom and could not be closed because there was not enough space left.

The room has a mini bar and a small TV if you need one, but is definitely too small to sit down and spend leisure time, or work at the desk, so you'll have to either use the bed or go downstairs and use the (again, tiny) salon near the reception, which features a fake fireplace. Although the rooms are not facing the street and are quiet, there was a gap under the door to the corridor, letting in a lot of light and sounds from the outside, which I didn't like, especially with other guests arriving or leaving at night,

The service (provided by a husband and wife team, the owners) was friendly, we felt quite welcome. A nice add-on was having free parking because of the off-season.

The breakfast is pretty good with a decent buffet-style choice of foods. On the floor to the rooms you can have free coffee and tea from a vending machine at all times.

Overall, this was a pleasant stay, and, considering Danish hotel prices, at a reasonable price, too. Because of the very small and narrow room it didn't feel special or comfy, though, and I definitely wouldn't use this for a romantic getaway.

“Step inside and feel at home”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 September 2010

When you enter into the reception and meet the hostess, you really get a comfortable feeling. The check-in procedures is quick and you get the key to your room and a description of the faciliteies and the opening hours of the breakfastroom without any delay. You also get your reserved numbered parkingplace for your car on the back of the hotel (50 DKr for 24 hours). The hotel is very well located with shopping areas, restaurants and Skagen Museum within walking distance. We enjoyed our stay and we would like to come back soon.

“Nice hotel with very good location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 July 2010

The best about Hotel Petit is the very good location where practivallly all of Skagen is within walking distance. Rooms are OK but no good views (unless one fínds a parking lot a good view), beds are fine. There is no restaurant nor bar at the hotel. Breakfast is OK. Staff is very friendly.

“Nice hotel, good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 April 2010

We spent Easter 2010 in Hotel Petit and it was a really positive experience. The hotel is just a few steps from the pedestrian street and my favorite shop and has the perfect location if you like to stay in the centre. The price was also very reasonable.

We asked for a room facing the backyard and found it quiet enough. But at certain times the smell of fish could get rather strong with an open window at night. I guess this is a general Skagen problem as it is quite close to the harbour. The room was small but comfortable, I've stayed in smaller rooms. The bathroom was nice and seemed newly renovated. You could get hairdryer, shaving stuff, toothbrush, etc. upon request. The beds were really comfortable and it was free WiFi in all rooms.

There was no room service, but a machine with free tea and coffee and another with soft drinks in the corridor. There was also a bookshelf with books for loan.

The breakfast was really great and plentiful. Cheese, meat, three sorts of jam, boiled eggs, tomatos, cucumber, cereals, yoghurt, rolls, two kinds of bread (really good), croissants, apple and orange juice, tea, chocolate, coffee, muffins and a big plate with fresh fruit in slices. A great Scandinavian breakfast!

We were provided with a Skagen map and information upon arrival and the owner was available for questions. Behind the hotel there is a private parking with approx. 15 spaces. During Easter the parking was free, but in the high season it's not and parking can be a problem in Skagen.

We had a really pleasant stay and left Skagen with good memories. Petit Skagen would definitely be our first choice on our next trip.
