Hello all,

Recently I was traveling through Slovakia and stayed here at this small 'boutique' hotel. I cannot recommend it too highly. The rooms were tasteful and comfortable, the staff very helpful and there was a fine dining area with good menu.

The hotel is situated right in the middle of Levoca which is a delightful town renown for its beauty and proximity also to Spiš Castle.

I only wish I stayed an extra night to relax and enjoy the environs for slightly longer.

I rarely write reviews, but this hotel warrants one!

We were first given a room on the 3rd floor at the back. While large, it was very plain and the bathroom opened directly into the bedroom (this always bothers me a bit). The TV didn't work (I like to watch CNN in the evening and in the morning while getting ready), but the desk clerk told me it was because guests play with the remotes and screw them up somehow. He did not know how to fix it. I said that the room was unacceptable and after a bit of convincing he gave us another room on the first floor at the front.

While the layout was similar, except for a better designed bathroom door opening, the room was much more oppulently appointed (as you can see in some of the pictures posted by other reviewers, note the rooms with the gold curtains). This room (107, I think) was very nice and well worth the 50 Euro/night, especially with free secure parking right out back.

I'm only rating this hotel average though because the first room that we were supposed to stay in was nothing special.

We had a lovely big room with the use of the kitchen in the smaller room next door. Our room had a nice table and lounge suite, good television and very comfortable big bed. Wifi was only available in the lobby, free of charge. Location was great and easy to find in the small village.

The hotel was empty and I think we were actually the only guests checked in over the weekend of our stay. We felt a little bit sorry for them and couldn't believe they had opened a hotel just for the 2 of us and got a staff member to sit at an empty reception for 12 hours or possible 24 hours depending on what time they closed?

However, we were disappointed because we thought there was going to be a sauna and fitness centre but none of this existed. There was a beautiful bakery at the end of the street, 5 mins walk and a little grocery store which was dirt cheap.

Would stay again, just disappointed about non existing sauna and fitness!

This hotel was a fantastic find in a historical UNESCO town. I agree with the other reviews that talk about how the hotel was aesthetically renovated- it was quite lovely and had a very modern bathroom with beautiful finishing.

I think what I liked the best was that the bathrooms had heated floors. Waking up in the night or morning and coming into it was fabulous.

The town of Levoca is also a great find and is just minutes away from other historical sites.

The restaurant in the hotel served fabulous food. Staff was friendly and helpful always.

I stay in a lot of hotels throughout the year mainly in North America for business and this rated up there with them all.
