After doing some research on Tripadvisor, have decided that Vincents is the place I want to try the most, so it was booked. We were greeted by a few members of staff, and in the duration of the whole evening it looked like there is a member of staff for every single duty- to bring wine, make ice-lollies, bring a bill etc. The restaurant has a few rooms, we had a table in a smaller room, which I found was more intimate and warm, whereas the other room had a colder atmosphere. It is expensive for latvian standards, but it's definitely worth a try if you are visiting a city or for a special occasion. A lot of amuse bouche/ compliments from a chef were brought to us. Birch juice, which is in season, home-made bread etc. Portions of a reasonable size. Very nice presentation. After a starter, passion fruit 'ice-lollies' were made in front of us to clear the tasting buds before eating the mains. Have been to many nice restaurants, first time for this. All ingredients fresh, seasonal. Good wine list, starting from very reasonable 18 Lats, and they have sommelier to help you choose the best wine for each dish. If you go there, go for a proper three course meal- it is a place you go not only for a great, gourmet food, but for an experience. Mine was great and my mum was very happy with an evening too. Highly recommend.
