The name of this place might seem rather strange, but don't let that put you off!
I stayed here for four nights at the end of August. The building itself is a former flax mill (I think), and the conversion has been impressively done. I found the rooms clean, the bathroom large and the ceilings high. Everything is impressively modern.
The staff at the hotel were helpful, but some of them spoke more English than others. Having said that, all of them spoke better English than I speak Latvian.
The hotel has a ten-pin bowling alley attached. This proved very handy, as there was heavy rain on one of the days I was in Riga. Again, this facility was impressively modern.
The hotel is about 5 mins walk to a tram stop, and the tram takes about 15 minutes to get to the centre of town. It is cheap at a flat rate fare of 0.30 Lats (about 30p).
The tram line does go through the run-down Moscow district, much of which seems to be falling down. That in itself is quite interesting, though not highlighted in most guidebooks.
