“Hidden gem of Riga”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

We did not have high expectations, because the price of the hotel was so cheap. We spent a long weekend in January, when it was extremely cold. The hotel was warm and comfortable. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean and included amenities and there was plenty of hot water. Breakfast was good and included bread, cereals and all the regular things.

The location was excellent and it was easy to take a bus from the airport. If I come to Riga again, will stay in this hotel and again and can really recommend this hotel.

“good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

It's a normal 3-star hotel with reasonable price. Our room was clean and good-looking, the only one minor claim was a view from the window to the other hotel near by. These two hotels are very close to each other and you may greet your neighbors from the opposite window. :)
The breakfast was average with poor choice and meals weren't very tasty. But, I used this place for a short stay as an intermediate point in my journey, that's why location was more important for me. And be sure it's extremely convinient. The hotel is located in 3-5 minutes walk from the main rail station and the central bus station is here too. So, all public transport (including buses from/to airport) goes not far from the hotel. And in the same time the hotel stays in the very begining of the Old City and could be good starting-point for your city walk.

“it was not fair..”

They just changed our room, reserved in this hotel, to another one without any warning. We've been told some stupid reason "in your room there is no water, go to another hotel" Obviousely, reason was overbooking

1st. They could just make a call beforehand, 'cause I would never live in this hotel where we were redirected. They didn't give us any choice and 4 p.m. was not good time for looking for other variants.

2nd. they canceled our reservation on the site, where we've made it, thus we could not write any feedback about this situation

3rd. I just hate lie...

“A good back-up plan”

The Forums Hotel is an acceptable choice if you cannot find rooms in one of the really good hotels in the center of Old Town Riga. It was certainly an acceptable choice for me to move to after a terrifying experience at another Riga hotel.

My room was quite spacious with a lovely terrace that overlooked the roofs of Old Town. The bed was good with plenty of comfortable covers against the chilly nights.

Located on the edge of Old Town, Forums is a good base to walk that area; it is a 15 minute walk from the Jugendstil blocks; 5 minutes from the fascinating Central Market; and a 5 minute walk from the river.

Breakfast is not the best, but it is there as part of the room cost. No problem because there are several really nice places very close to the hotel to eat at any time of day.

Room Tip: If you can get one of the terrace rooms, you'll be quite happy!

“Say NO to a room under the roof!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 July 2011

We booked our hotel via lastminute. We stayed for 5 nights and were looking for a reasonably priced accomodation conveniently located in the old Town. The location of the hotel was perfect, if only they gave us (2 adults and a 6 year old girl) a family room and not a loft convertion without air condition. The room was incredibly hot and not much floor space to walk straight. The view from the window was onto a dirty water reservoir which attracted mosquitos, and they charged us for every single water we drank. NOT GOOD ENOUGH. If you have the choice, take your breakfast somewhere else!

Nevertheless, Riga is a beautiful city and has a lot to offer, among it many other lovely hotels!
